Dark Plagueis was such a powerful and wise Dark Lord of the Sith that he could use the Force to influence the midi-chlorians and could create life. Moreover, his knowledge of the Dark Side was such that he was also able to prevent those whose existence was important to him from dying. He had become so powerful that the only thing he was still afraid of was losing his power, which happened one day. He made the mistake of teaching his young apprentice his knowledge, and all his secrets. And this apprentice killed him while he was sleeping. What an irony! He had conquered death for others, but his own did not know how to avoid it.
