question about 2k11

So I've started collecting nba 2k games recently and I was wondering if a physical copy of 2k11 on ebay came with a steam key since I've read that it does and also that it doesn't and idk really anything about physical pc games since I've never had to do this to get a key before

Don't think it had Steam keys

There were retail CD keys issued[steamdb.info] for NBA 2K11, but the only way you'll know for sure is by checking the box itself - it will say somewhere in small print "Steam account required for activation and play" or something like that.

Also you'll have to be confident that the box is still factory sealed and from a reputable seller if you're getting it off of eBay.
