This is just a short update on what to expect in this months update [not including game changes].

Group Player Limits

Many of our players have been asking for a group player limit as there have been numbers of groups dominating the server. From May 5th the group limit shall be set to a maximum of 4 players.

Alliances are allowed however, no more than 4 players are permitted to base underneath one base. This includes but is not limited to compounds and other such structures. If an Admin suspects your group is made up of more than 4 players then he/she has the right to launch an investigation into the matter.

We Are No Longer An UK/EU Server!

We have decided to open the server to players around the world rather than limit ourselves to a EU player branch. This is to improve our numbers on the server and to give our players the chance to group with and interact with a range of people from different ethnicites.

Joining / Leaving Messages

Our Head Admins are working constantly to make the server a better place for our players and to give a greater experience than any other server can. That's why we have been adding small changes such as Joining and leaving messages. These messages will greet and depart players joining and leaving the server. This code also include a friendly message and the player who is joining/leaving's name.

April 5 Server Wipe!

As many of you know today is the Never Rust Alone server wipe and we would love for you all to come and join us for the opening of it. There is no set time for the update to go live, but generally it’s between 3 and 5pm EST (7 and 9pm GMT). This announcement will tell you everything you need to know about the new map as well as some important changes to the game.

What Do I need To Know?

This wipe we have upgraded our map size from 4000 - 4700 this will give players a lot more space to build and gather resources without getting shot.

This is important as this wipe we are going to be more relaxed with KOS on the server as we feel it took away the very elements of what makes Rust a survival game. However we do ask that if you see nakeds, try not to kill them if possible we want players to have a start on the server so that they may join us in the future.

(Be careful of who you kill, there are known to be groups of 5+ people on the server and if you have caused any trouble with one of these groups then expect retaliation to your actions.)

What Has The Update Brought?

Boats Added
"A new form of transportation is here which allows people to travel faster than ever before! After the update, ‘Rowboats’ will start spawning around the map on all servers. Although they cannot be crafted, you’ll have the opportunity to find one of around 65 per server which spawn near rivers, beaches, and lighthouses.

Long and short: They run on low grade fuel, seat up to 4 people, move at a nice click, and have storage for 12 items."

Floating Junk Piles
"Boats aren’t the only new thing you’ll be seeing as you gaze across the waterways in Rust - floating junk piles now litter the coastline. Like their roadside cousins, these water piles of junk feature a random assortment of barrels, wooden crates, and toolboxes.

Scientists At Junkpiles
"Those boys in blue (radsuits) have received some upgrades this month. Along with shifts in the brain department, they will now spawn near junkpiles, making them much more prevalent around the map."

Chinook Server Event
"The newest server event has arrived. Still a work in progress, the CH47 will be patrolling your local Rust server once the update hits. Piloted by NPC scientists, this dual-rotor helicopter flies around the map, patrolling monuments, eventually dropping a locked crate.

Several other scientists accompany the pilot, firing off rounds at Newmans as they spot them. Once they find a valid drop zone, they release a crate (similar to an airdrop). Unlike an airdrop, however, this crate is locked and stays as such until someone starts 'hacking' it (by pressing use) then waiting for the subsequent timer to unlock."

Congratulations!!!

First of all I'd like to welcome all of our new players to the server and congratulate everyone on helping us meet our peak of 26 players on at once. This is a mile stone for us and we'd like to thank you all for making this possible. Today I thought I'd share with you the best things soon to be added to Rust by the developers with a little more insight than most sources.

Chinook-47 Event

This event will be similar to the airdrop but with possibly better loot. The Chinook-47 will drop a crate at a location which players will have to defend for a period of time before the crate[files.facepunch.com] is unlocked. This event will most likely be more competitive than air drops as players are forced to stay in the area to protect the crate from others. The Chinook-47's model is one we've never seen before and a video showing the flying mechanics for the entity can be found here.

Who will fly these things? from what we've seen NPC scientists are planned to be the aircrafts pilots meaning that this unfortunately won't be mountable.

Traps & Puzzles at Monuments

You heard that right, Rust is yet again making it harder for you to salvage what you can from your favourite monuments. Not much progress has been shown from this but they are said to be not too far from the future. The puzzles and traps will give or block access to areas that contain high tier loot such as the Dome or launch site and will limit how easily you can gather loot during scrap runs.

Viewing model clothing

This feature will let players view their clothing on their arms while holding weapons. This is not a massive feature but a cool one none the less. Previews from the devs show how this looks and the community are loving it.

When and Where Will The PVE Zone Be Open To Players?

The PVE Zone is located at the bottom left corner of F15 on the map and will be open to players on March 7th at an undisclosed time. Players can come to watch the event take place but need to note that the Mall is a no weapon zone to protect those inside and yourselves.

What Do I need To Know About The PVE Zone?

The PVE Zone is an admin run area, this means that it fits in within the server rules that the area is exclusively PVE. All player weapons and guns will be taken at the gates by security this is to prevent any rules being broken. If these rules are broken it will be taken seriously and may result in warnings, (kick) or more seriously (ban).

The area is used for safe trading as we wish for our players to meet and interact with eachother, players may wish to open their own store which will be provided free of charge by the admins. The Zone is filled with facilities to suit your every need, From hotels to restaurants this place has it all.

What Are The PVE Zone Rules?

• PVP Is Prohibited.
  
• Trespassing through back entrances and shop owners areas is forbidden unless necessary.
  
• No guns or weapons are allowed within the walls. (This is for your own safety as well as others).
  
• No destroying or vandalising the Mall, anyone found doing this will be banned from the server as many hours of hard work went into this community building.

Plans For An Arena Before The Wipe

A forced wipe will take place on March the 1st, before this happens our admins are planning on building an arena and setting up matches for our players to fight in. So come along, bring your friends and have a great time.

Why Was The Wipe So Soon This Month?

We're sorry to say the server will be wiped on March 1st due to a force wipe by the Devs. This has come as a surprise but also as a gift, as many new players will now be equal and the fight to survive with rise throughout the community.

What Will This Wipe Bring?

• NPC/Scientist behaviour has been improved and will be added into Rust servers.
  
  
• Chainsaw progress is now one step closer and should be added in a near update.
  
  
• Bed repair and pickup has been added.
  
  
• Grief protection added, a valuable feature to tool cupboards to prevent decay raiding. When destroyed, instead of spitting out the resources inside, cupboards will now commit those resources to the upkeep time.
