An easy guide on how to install and use HLDJ
Introduction
For a software it might be usefull for you to know what it does and how you use it before you download it. With HLDJ you can play music through your MIC on high quality without hearing outside noises. Some servers including Neonheights support it. Others don't and in most other servers you'll probably get kicked because of it. There are a lot of trapdoors when installing this software that you need to be aware of for this software to actually work. First you obviously need to download HLDJ you can do that here: http://www.hldj.org/downloads.html

64-Bit or 32-Bit?
I can go into great detail on what a bit is but I'll cut to the chase. How do you know if
your laptop/pc/Ipad/PS3/PS4/Xbox360/Steambox/potato is 32 or 64 bit. Right click on computer than go to properties. Somewhere in the system section it will tell you if your hardware is 64-bit if it doesn't say anything it's probably a 32-bit. Than you download the corresponding latest version bit type of HLDJ.

Why can't I open the file I got?
For those who already know how to unzip files they can skip this part. If you can't open the file you downloaded you probably do not have the correct software for it. When people want to send messages by mail containing more than one file you can zip it and send it. It's sort of a virtual package. A download also contains more than one file so it has to be zipped. Its zipped using a program and has to be unzipped using the same or another program. You can download either one of these two free programs which will help you open this file:
7-Zip: http://www.7-zip.org/
Winrar: http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm
(I would say 7-Zip is a bit more user friendly)
After you've downloaded it you can open HLDJ by right clicking it and opening it with the zip program you've downloaded

How do I use this program?
First you need to make a temporary location for your HLDJ, preferably close to your music files. Now that you have an unzipped version you can run HLDJ by clicking on HLDJ.exe to start the program. Now that you've opened it you can start by setting it up. You have to locate your tf2 directory to link HLDJ to the game. The location of this is here: C:\ program files(x86)\steam\steamapps\common\team fortress 2\tf when you have clicked on tf dont open it just click the ok button. If you want you can add more games to this list but for now I keep it for tf2 specific. You also have to put in a key to start/stop the mic spam you can choose between any key you want, but try not to bind over a key you're already using, accidentally!

How do I get music?
This is for those who don't have music. There are many ways to obtain music for free on the internet. I'm going to show you my prefered method of getting any audio clip straight from youtube. For this you are going to need 4K Youtube to MP3: http://www.4kdownload.com/products/product-youtubetomp3 open the software and paste the URL link of the youtube video you want the audio of. Now you can download any music from youtube you want.

How do I select music to use with HLDJ?
After you've got a map filled with the music you like you need to run HLDJ. Browse to the map containing the music with the audio converter (the two notes in the bottem right corner of HLDJ) in both input and output. Let it convert your music from MP3 to wav, dont do it manually because if you do all you will hear on the mic is static noice. After it is done converting you can remove all the MP3 files from your music map . If you don't it will start converting everything again when you want to add more mp3 songs to your list. Now you still have to add a key to start your HLDJ ingame.

Ingame:
After you've set up everything correctly close your HLDJ and re-open it as administrator. You have to start it as administrator otherwise you hear your real mic rather than your HLDJ. Check if your input directory is correct, than start up the game with the green play button on HLDJ. If everything is correct you will be able to see your list of music in the command promp(` above tab) by typing "la". It will say a number followed by a name of a song in your music map. Just type in that number than press your chosen F key on the server to make it work.

VERY IMPORTANT:
I cant say this enough, dont be obnoxious with your mic spam. With this I mean that you should allow others to do their say as well so don't play to much music or songs that are too long. Also don't have it setup at 100% preferably somewhere in the range of 60-90. That way the quality of the song remains. If someone asks you if they can play the next song dont start playing another song yourself and let them play.

I'm sorry for making this so long but I'd rather teach you how to ride a bicycle rather than to show you how to ride one, you may do it right once but you might have to come back if you dont know what you are doing. Also please try to overlook my spelling/grammar mistakes. English isn't my first language

Doesn't Neon's high quality music guide for HLDJ say to put the volume at 100% after editing the song, though?

Why would you ever listen to Neon? ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)... Though the volume really depends on the actual volume of the youtube video. I usually keep it at 85-100

Put the volume at whatever ya want. After youve converted it with less bass it makes absolutely no difference whether its at 80 or 150

Thx a lot for pinning my thread hopefully it will help players out with setting up their HLDJ:D
Also about the volume, I think it really depends on what kind of music you play. If its mostly bass the volume can be as high as you want but if you play music on high notes you should lower the volume a bit otherwise it sounds bad.
