Official Madden '10 Boycott Steam Group

This group is dedicated to prevent the release of Madden '10.

If you are like me, then you were shocked when EA announced that a sequel to Madden '09 would be released in only one year. That's why this group was created; as we believe that EA should hold true to it's promise of supporting Madden '09 with DLC.
We believe that the release of a sequel in only one year will split the community and hurt EA's image as a wholesome, reliable game company that is in close touch with it's fans. Instead, we think this rushed sequel will only make EA appear greedy and uncaring for the loyal consumers who were expecting large quantities of DLC upon buying Madden '09.



I know that it is too early to pass judgement on the game as I have not played it, but from what I've seen, Madden '10 does not appear to offer any significant content beyond minor graphical and gameplay improvements; things that could be easily delivered in a downloadable pack. We believe that these small improvements do not just justify the price of a full, standalone game.




We know that EA is not rich, and they cannot be expected to survive without a continuous flow of money. Therfore, we are not asking them to completely abolish the release of a sequel to Madden '09, we are simply asking for them to continue to support Madden '09 with DLC as promised and hold off a sequel for at least one more year. The reason we wish for a delay is because we think, and most people would agree, that one year is not enough time to make any significant improvements on a game that could justify a $60 standalone price; however, given enough time, we think that they would be able to give us a game with enough content worthy of the consumer's money. In the meantime, they can continue to support Madden '09 with DLC as promised and thus please a majority, if not all, peoples in the community.



However, this all comes down to you, the consumer. If you agree with the above, please join our group in hopes to prevent the relesae of Madden '10 in exchange for continuous DLC support for Madden '09 and the eventual release of a sequel.
