ABOUT CS:GO - Let's Change Our Rep!

Changing Our Reputation! From Salty to Sweet

Welcome to the Changing Our Reputation project.

Counter Strike: Global Offensive has a particularly horrid reputation in the eSports, Gaming and internal community.

We are very well aware that people are going to hate us. That people aren't going to like our message. Yes we are aware that there are Rooshians. But at the end of the day we don't care.

Join us and let's change the community standards from salty to sweet.

How can you participate?
  • Simply say a kind word. This is by far the easiest way to make a new friend and simply be a great person.

  • Think about what you are saying. Telling someone that they are bad at the game isn't going to make them better. Enough said? I think so.

  • Think on how you are saying it. Sometimes it isn't what you are saying. It's how you are saying it. "UH Y DU U PEEK LIK DAT?" Or "Hey bro, maybe try stand away from the wall when you peek?" Sounds a lot better don't you think? This is by far the most effective way to becoming a nice bloke.

  • Help teach those of lesser skills. To be totally honest most arguments Counter Strike occur due to skill deficits. If you meet someone who is a slight noob then help em out m8.

  • Don't be so quick to hackuse. In layman terms don't call hacks if someone is better than you. Chances are they are just lucky or you are having a bad day. Be absolutely sure before you report someone.

  • Be Positive.
When your fellow Counter Strike members look to you for advice or just to set the mood of a conversation, don't be negative or critical. Keep looking for the positive in any given situation. Cheer them up if they are having a bad game.

  • Be Humble.
Do you tend to look down your nose at people who are new or "bad"? It's not nice to believe that you are better than other people. You're an individual, but everybody has their struggles, and being nice to one another makes life better for everyone. Everybody is equal, and when you talk about how great you are, you make others feel less valuable.

  • Offer to help.
If you see a new person to CS:GO struggling, offer to help. Put others before yourself when you have energy and time to spare. Your nice acts will definitely be rewarded in the long run, so don't be self-centred.

  • Don't discriminate.
Be equally nice to everyone. Even if you're nice to your friends in CS:GO, but you are not nice to people who aren't experienced at the game, you may not actually seem as nice as you actually are.

Our Wonderful Game
CS:GO is a wonderful game with a great levels of fun and skill alike. The only problem with it is that our community is absolutely appalling. Join our movement and spread the word. Counter Strike Global Offensive is currently the second most played game on steam to DOTA. DOTA. Seriously? we are 2nd to DOTA? We really need to change some things...
