Physics based 3D space shooter

KROMAIA is a 3D, fully physics based experimental action game, placed in a strange and hostile universe governed by rules to be discovered by the player. This immersive experience, in which traditional interface elements as well as text do not exist anymore, goes beyond the space shooter genre boundaries and sets a new standard: Spatial and physical awareness, insight, tactic and reflexes in exchange for survival.



HOW DOES IT WORK?

An underlying solid, optimised engine makes KROMAIA what it is: A reality, since everything seen on screen is actually there; an experience entirely driven by true physical forces and supported by a powerful time control system. In a continuous, constantly evolving environment like this, there could not be two identical runs.

Every entity present in KROMAIA uses a modular assembly format easily imported from XML files. A great tool allowing full customisation, including propulsion system arrangement, energy supply distribution or weaponry features. This modular system will allow modders to create new units, controls, features and game mechanics and use the same engine to play their mods easily.


WHY TO PLAY?

Interactivity makes the difference for KROMAIA, in single player mode as well a in the challenging versus one.

The units presented provide a complex and yet attractive piloting system based entirely upon physical mechanics: They do have reactors, sharing energy amongst real propellers, which apply real forces to achieve smooth manoeuvring.

This is a unique journey through deep space, where asteroids are not frozen assets, but real Asteroids; projectiles are not graphical elements, but solid Projectiles; explosions are not particle effects, but Explosions affecting the environment with shockwaves. No more fake movement for a single entity: just physical forces.
