Thy graceful fins doth catch the light
In ponds serene, thou dost abide
A tranquil beauty, by my side

Thy colors blend, in perfect hue
Like art, that nature doth imbue
Thy gliding form, a gentle stroke
That calms my heart, with each bespoke

In eastern tales, thy legend told
Of strength and wisdom, to behold
A symbol of good fortune, thee
A mystic creature, set free

So, swim thee on, dear koi divine
A muse to poets, so sublime
And in thy presence, let me find
A peace, to soothe my troubled mind.
