What does Incel mean?

Incel means involuntary celibate, a person who wants to be in a loving relationship but is unable to find a partner. There is nothing more to it.

Is being an incel the same as being a virgin?

No. While the vast majority of incels are virgins, there are cases where a person has had sex in the past but due to a number of circumstances is now unable to enter a relationship.

Why don't you go to an escort?

While some people do go to escorts, sex isn't the main point of inceldom, as already stated.
Is there a minimum required age to be incel?

No. In general one should wait however until late teens to claim being incel, as otherwise puberty may still change the person's appearence, personality, and situation, giving room to enter a relationship still.

Would therapy help?

While therapy is a valid source of help for many people, it is not a catch-all solution for every problem out there. Therapy may help people accept their situation and make the best of it, but it won't fix a lack of emotional warmth. Most of all it is an overused platitude that assumes people are ignorant of its existence.
