Why do YOU hate Epic Games Store?
So I wanna know, what your reasons are for hating Epic Games Store. I hate most other Stores because I don't want to always start some other store, just to play 1 game or something like that.

I hate Epic as a company because they murdered Unreal Tournament for trashnite and a garbage launcher which they try to rule and ruin PC gaming. Ofc weeny being a hypocrite, their launcher and business practices being absolute trash doesn't help either. I kinda don't care about the launcher wars, i have all of them other than epic but epic's functionality is just so bad compared to all the others there's no advantage to having it, plenty of disadvantages though.
What pisses me off even more is how they GFWL style hijack existing Steam games like the Tomb Raider series. Not even existing purchases are safe.

being forced on anything, i hate that and when i'm using a superior product, i don't like to downgrade out of nothing, also the shills that defend it with repetitive arguments like free games, they think they have every right over consumers and even more, that every consumer is a braindead kid that will follow them for no reason. I hate to have my library split, to wait on exclusivity to finish just to have one more exclusive deal, to have price increase in games when they aren't even delivering anything good like "remasters" (which for me suck and are the worst thing possible, just recoloring and charging full price again)

I don't know if I hate them, but I dislike their approach to PC gaming, which is heading into the console exclusive nonsense by throwing money at devs to stay away from steam, gog etc..

Instead of focusing at being a legit competitor like GoG is trying to be, they're alienating a lot of people with these 6+ month deals to stay away from other launchers.
I know GoG has their own issues, but at least they're trying. Doing a hell of a lot better than those shitty uplay, origin and whatever Activision launcher is using.
Besides the "Fortnite kiddies/ crazy influencers/shills", the bajillion launchers, Epic's handling/bringing the console mindset to the PC environment. I hate Epic Games, because it's endangering the crowdfunding games system. Games won't get the much needed support, if potential costumers don't trust the devs to keep their words/be transparent and are rightfully paranoid. Plus, there's Epic Games's recent stunts involving the Darq devs and InnerSloth (The latter not being credited for an "Inspired" Fortnite event, ticked me off way more than it should (and I can't play with some of ya guys, due to Epic Online Services. I know you're having trouble at your end)).

He made Silicon Knights fall due to a conflict, that did hurt a lot for me, I admired Silicon for Eternal Darkness.

In addition, it has devalued many games, I mean, I work for something and for a moment the game that I buy with effort, they give it for free as if it had no value. I hate EGS so much.

I literally had to go to task manager and disable it from running just to uninstall the epic games store

launcher is bad, and there is:
-no user profile
-no achievements
-no ability to quickly take screenshots while in a game(unless you use nvdia ui)
-no player review on game pages
basically you're censored from any social relations with other users, it's just you and the app, you and what the media says about the game you're intressted in.
Oh and fortnite aswell who is absorbing then destroying every game's reputation by putting their characters as game skins (tfw naruto snipes thanos across the map so masterchief has to revive him but is being backstabbed by jill valentine but they all died because morty had the upperhand)

Simple, I can't buy anything from that awful store. It has 2 payment systems, Credit Card & Paypal.
I've Debit card that doesn't accept by EGS. & Paypal, I really don't know why Paypal on EGS doesn't work. Last game I've purchased via Paypal is Division 2 from Uplay (Ubisoft connect).
& thus Epic exclusives forced me to pirate the game I want or wait for steam/gog release.
BTW, my Card & Internet banking works on GOG, Steam, Microsoft store, Uplay, & other 3rd party sites such as Greenman gaming, Humble Bundle & Fanatical.

I hate how Epic is trying to gain a monopoly on the digital game distribution industry with the use of exclusivity deals, their hyper focus on a "metaverse" and how they abandon their other franchises for Fortnite. Also, their CEO Tim Sweeney is a hypocrite and crying man child. That's all I could think of for now.

Axial Drift is my first boycotted game simply because it's using the Unreal engine. Definitely feeling the paranoia. Epic is such shit.

Cause they offer nothing of value to the consumer and actively pay studios in order to inconvenience us by strong arming us onto their platform which then sell us trash ports for more than you'd ever see on steam. Remember guys it's just a launcher... Epic games is a glorified scalper.

I remember when Epic announced the EGS and I thought at first that it would be a good thing, more competition and all. I never cared about "having another goddam launcher to open" since even cheap SSDs make this irrelevant. But then they began with the exclusivity bs, and also that condescending attitude of Tim 'Swine' on twitter and also the fact that he talked sh*t of the PC platform in the past really made me hate Epic Games with a passion and anything related to it.

shitty launcher, horrible customer support, fortnite

Mostly because of when the Epic store was announced, we thought it'd be good for competition, until Epic decided to start calling "monopoly" on Steam, meanwhile trying to monopolize the industry. (Metro Exodus, anyone?)
Second, their store is barebones in terms of features, I mean, it JUST RECENTLY got a shopping cart. After what, almost 5 years of being around? Why are half the payment methods and currencies in the world not accepted? Why is does it have two domains for tracking my information? We ask ourselves all these questions and there's one answer to them: Epic wants control of the industry. But as soon as Fortnite dies, they lose basically all of their income.
