Escape Machines, hasn't been updated since May 30th, 2015 (about 11 months ago as of writing this). The developer also announced that he was making another game in order to fund the development of this one. Development of Escape Machines has been officially suspended until the completion of his new game, Black Prince (which was supposed to launch in March, but was delayed to sometime in April or May[mintagestudios.com]).

It hasn't been updated for almost a whole year, even though the developer has stated many times that he will keep in touch better, and bring updates soon(tm)!

It's not been a full year yet, but it's well past six months without a game update. It's clearly evidenced in the forums that they've suspended work on Metaverse to concentrate on XLR, and they'll be sure to return to finish Metaverse.
Considering how long it can take to develop a game in the first place, that's cold comfort.
Though they did give XLR to owners of Metaverse for free...it's a VR-only game. Unless you've already got the latest and greatest rig and shelled out the extra cash for an Oculus or Vive, it's unplayable.

State: left ea 2 months ago. Was in ea for few years. Release pushed.
Whats wrong: removed lots of content, was in early access (temperature system, lots of planet types, weapons, armor, etc). Promised content didnt implemented (such as architector mode). Perfomance is ever worse, than in beta, makes game unplayable ever on PC, much more powerfull, than listed in recommended (very low fps overall, lagspikes, in-load parts of planets). Some forum threads with critique got removed.

State: left ea after being offline for half year. Rushed.
Whats wrong: it was ea multiplayer game. Then SUDDENLY servers felt offline for half year. When devs finnaly brought em back, they wiped whole steam inventories, associated with this game (some items had prices of stuff from csgo or tf2, if you know, what im talkin about) and pushed game out of early access

State: abandoned EAG
Whats wrong: no updates since december 2015. Developers stay silent aswell

State: EA
Reason to add: early access microtransactions.
Also used to be paid game, but switched to free 2 play model (was in their roadmap, but only after leaving early access)
https://steamdb.info/app/236110/
As I research the title, the developers seem very upfront with their plans and the open ended nature of their business model.
Even at Early Access launch, they specified that the title would eventually go Free to Play and that the business model would evolve.
I haven't found any evidence of misleading, deceitful or otherwise potentiallly anti-consumer practices being employed. The game has been on Early Access for quite awhile (a little over 2 years), but it is still being actively developed.
"Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?
“In the future, Dungeon Defenders II will be free. We’re focused on building a great game first and business model second, so as of the Steam Early Access launch, the game is absent of any monetization features. We will be adding these features to the game as we progress through Early Access. There will also be periods of time where it goes on sale or participates in other Steam promotions.
For supporting us early, you’ll receive an exclusive Hero Embellishment set and an equivalent or greater dollar value to your purchase price of in-game currency. You can use this currency to buy cool items like costumes, tower skins, and tavern decorations when those features come online. These in-game purchases will NEVER GRANT GAMEPLAY ADVANTAGE. EVER. WE’RE SERIOUS!” "

In my opinion, the ONLY scenario in which it is acceptable for an Early Acess Game to have microtransactions or other monetization models is when they are in fact, Free to start with.
As such, I probably will not add that title to our curation list unless I can actually find an inclusion crtieria that has been fulfilled.
Thank you lots for your suggestion and feedback!
As always, if there is any piece of information I am missing feel free to let me know.
