May 18, 2018, Dimitrios Pagourtzis carried out the Santa Fe High School shooting in Santa Fe, Texas. He killed 10 people (8 students and 2 teachers) and injured 13 others.

He surrendered to police shortly after the attack. He has been ruled incompetent to stand trial due to mental illness and has remained in psychiatric commitment for over 8 years.
