im keep getting a strange error.
when i first downloaded crowbar and the unzipping program thingy i could stop getting an error when i tried to reinstall crowbar. and error said "this file does not have an app associated with it for performing this action. please install an app or, if one is already installed, create an association in the default apps setting page" and it always says the same thing.

Are you clicking Crowbar.exe? If your computer is refusing to launch an .exe file and throws you an error like that, then you have serious issues with your Default program assignments. It's not Crowbar.

Wait so are you saying that I just downloaded malware?

No, Crowbar IS NOT malware. What I'm saying is that if your clicking the Crowbar.exe file and getting that error, then you have a serious problem with your computer.

However, thinking about this, If you downloaded the Crowbar.7Z (the compressed file) file then clicked and tried to run that and got the error, it means that you don't have a program set up to open that file and extract the program file (the Crowbar.exe) when you double click it.

You need an unzipper like WinZip, WinRar or 7Zip that can read the crowbar.7z file to extract the program file from the .7Z file.

i have 7zip on my computer and i have Crowbar.7Z but for some reason my laptop still gives me an error

that's because you have not set windows up to use 7zip to open and run 7z files as the default program for that file type. Open 7zip then load the 7z file into it and extract the Crowbar.exe to a folder somewhere on you computer. Then open that location and run the Crowbar.exe file.

so i just tried to do as you said and for some reason the 7zip closed by itself as soon as i opened it.

Drag and drop the 7z onto the 7zip.exe file and see if that opens it. Personally, I don't use 7zip, I use WinRar.
