Someone just asked me about Copeland, whether or not to watch his stuff, problem arises when you're new to all of this, that a lot of what these people say is rather mundane and cookie cutter, and you don't immediately know they've said things like (or precisely) in Copeland's case, "Everytime I read in the Bible and see "I AM" I just smile and say "I AM too" [....] I AM a little god!"

As a Reformed Baptist and cessationist, I don't know what to say about this except I am shocked that the Pope actually requested prayer from a group the church anathemetized.

Yeah Hunter, what I meant by this post... is a lot of what these people say is very generic and by the book, but then they blaspheme, say they are I AM, etc... lots of problems with prosperity/word faith etc

What is wrong with prosperity preachers? God does not want us to not be happy. Through Jesus he died for ALL sins at the cross. I don't get why people don't like prosperity preachers. My Grandparents have been preaching for about 25-30 years on prosperity and it's not a bad thing. That is my opinion, sorry if it came around harsh.

Could you give me some examples where appostles or Jesus Himself preaches prosperity? Also you say your grandparents been preaching? Do you mean your grandmother to be a pastor?

Well, for one, prosperity is not what scripture is about. Scripture isn't even to give you a good/happy life. Scripture is about salvation by Jesus death on the cross and the attonement of your sins.
