object vta has no polygons in blender
Im trying to export a model in blender as a .SMD, everything i need to do is set up but when i try to export i get this message

ERROR: Object VTA verticies has no polygons, skipping

ive been trying to figure out why this is happening but all of the answers say to change the format to .SMD.

can someone please explain this to me and how i can fix it?

Go to the object in Blender, Look at the Shapekeys, if only it has only a basis shape, delete the shapekey, re-export the object and recompile.
OR
If the object has multiple shapekeys, make sure the ones that are to be used (have flexes) do not have a _ in the shapekey name. A _ in the name of a shapekey indicates it is a corrective shape. These are written to the export but StudioMDL does not recognize these as usable flexes.

while the vertex groups have _ in them the shapekeys dont have any.

Vertex groups are not shapekeys, they have no affect on a VTA. Vertex can have a _ in the name.

Are you exporting SMD or DMX format objects?

Ive been exporting as an .Smd this entire time. After looking at the shapekeys and trying to export again it worked. there was a new warning relating to textures but not an error that prevented exporting. Thank you for your help
