Corrupted UVs in Blender
Downloaded the latest Blender and the latest version of source tools. Uvs have been corrupted with the importer. No idea why. https://imgur.com/a/frnGZ

After the Blender Source Tools update that made SMD imports support custom normals without every triangle being a separate piece of mesh, I have seen several reports about this issue, so I don't think this is just some sort of coincidence thing.

However, that issue was supposedly fixed in version 2.10.1 of the Blender Source Tools, likely meaning that either this SMD has been imported in version 2.10 and exported from that (with the UV issue "intact") and now imported again in the latest version, or sonicjeremy is using version 2.10 of the Blender Source Tools right now.

Ahhh... So he should click the Check For Update Button in the Blender Source Tools panel and make sure he's using the most up to date plug in. (Which will install automatically after clicking the button)

O shoot, you're right. Apparently the website http://steamreview.org/BlenderSourceTools/ gave me 2.10, for some odd reason. I pressed the check for updates button and I'm now at 2.10.1! Thank you!

I wish the exports done with and before 2.10 could be salvaged somehow, as now many of the models on https://www.models-resource.com/ which have smd exports are now unusable.

There shouldn’t be any reason why all the SMD‘s don’t work with source tools 2.10. I haven’t found any problems yet

If you just update to version 2.10.1 of the Blender Source Tools and then import the SMDs, they should appear correctly now (provided that you did not import them with 2.10 and then export and overwrite them with the broken UVs that 2.10 get).

If fully re-downloading the SMD file(s) and importing them in Blender with version 2.10.1 of the Blender Source Tools results in broken UV maps, that should be reported here, and then if Artfunkel or someone else says that the problem is with the SMD(s) and not the Blender Source Tools, you can try asking about it where you downloaded the model from.

But again, the first thing to do is to make sure you have the latest version of the Blender Source Tools (2.10.1) and the latest version of Blender (2.79b), then import the SMD into a new Blender session. If the UV mapping is wrong, re-download the SMD fully and try again.
