I wanted to try and add a discussion topic but it won’t let me. So I ask this.
Would it be possible to automate the “Proportion Trick” with Blender Source Tools in the future? Such that you’d import a .mdl to use its animation set, and make Blender export your model with all the existing animations angle changes only to your model’s skeleton. Or supply a folder of decompiled smd’s from that .mdl include.

Garry's Mod will be recognised as an engine branch in the next release. Until then, just leave that field blank.

I cannot export as smd because the engine path of Garry's Mod is an error and doesn't detect it. I've already tried changing blender versions and still nothing. I can confirm I have the "studiomdl.exe" so why is this issue happening???

can you add the feature to export the qc and not just the smds

I'm having trouble with exporting a cosmetic I've created for TF2. It seems to export fine, however when I try to preview my item a page shows up saying the build has failed, and at the end of a long list it says:

ERROR: unknown attachment link 'bip_head'
ERROR: Aborted Processing on 'workshop/player/items/medic/item_preview/item_preview.mdl'
CTargetMDL::Compile Failed - c:\program files (x86)\steam\steamapps\common\team fortress 2\tf\models\workshop\player\items\medic\item_preview\item_preview.mdl
WARNING: CTargetZIP::Compile - Target 1 Compile Failed

Other people have seemed to run into this same problem but I don't know if anyone has figured it out yet. Does anyone else know what this means?

can someone tell me why everytime i try to export my model to either DMX or SMD, it says

"WARNING: 1042 verts on "*body part name*" have over 3 weight links. Source does not support this!"

the model is ported from BO:CW if it is of any help.

I got it
I had to rename the dmx to say idle, then export that. Go back and retry to compile the model.

The first link is part of a QC file that is used to compile the model. The second is an SMD file that contains data. Totally different things.

So, I'm having this problem lately. whenever I'm trying to export smd in blender 2.8 it's saying "scene unconfigured. See the SOURCE ENGINE EXPORT PANEL in Scene Properties".
Where is this scene properties??

Ok, I have a question. I have installed the Blender Source Tool into the Blender, it works but the only thing is, it only exports, doesn't import SMD files. I'm trying to grab some models and it won't allow me to import them to grab. A little help please?

Hey modders, I'm willing to pay for a model of a cardboard cutout of a friend of mine, with a little stand in the back. Like the Andruha model on the workshop, but a playermodel. Easy enough?

Hello, I cant seem to download blender source tools, everytime I go to it, it says "404" The requested URL /BlenderSourceTools/ was not found on this server.
When it doesnt say that, its just a saved copy of the download button, you click it, and it does the samething as above. Any help?

Does anyone here know the correct camera settings for 1st person view in TF2 field of view in blender and tf2 is not the same how do you make it the same view been looking everywhere for this nothing online helps is there a console command in tf2 or something to get the coordinates of the 1st person team fortress 2 view if anyone knows please let me know
