Since its establishment in 1985, Asmik Ace has expanded its business from the sales of video games and software to the acquisition and distribution of Western films, as well as the planning and production of original Japanese films and anime, with a primary focus on the film industry.

Additionally, since becoming a wholly-owned subsidiary of Japan's leading cable TV operator JCOM in 2012, Asmik Ace has extensively developed video-on-demand services in collaboration with JCOM and KDDI Corporation.
