Stanley Parable Irregularities and other invalid achievements?

Hey there,

since recently my Stanley Parable-Achievements (which I did about one and a half year ago) were marked as invalid with the reason "Irregularities in the achievements cause them not to count." - There are ten achievements, 8 of which have a guide which I followed to achieve them (or similar guides from Steam), 1 which is trivial and the last one (with 0 achievers currently) is for not playing the game for five years. Of course I did not achieve it "legit" but by changing the date on the computer as many others will have. But that seems to be no problem with other achievements like that or seasonal ones. So what is the exact reason for this game being invalid for me?

And secondly, my Garry's Mod achievements are marked as invalid too, because "Steam reports, you do not own this game.". Yet I own the game, I don't know why Astats would block this. However: If I didn't own the game, why would the achievements not count for that, too?

Eventually "Zombie Driver" and "Droplitz" are invalid because they are not in the Steam store anymore. But some of their achievements count achievers and give many many points to them. What's up with that?

No, something is wrong, All the saints row, rochard, depths of kronos, bunch of payday 2 all the grow home, enemy front, project explore, hyper rougue, millie, kill the bad guy, world of guns, prototype 2, spoiler alert, and a ton more games achviements glitched, how is this possible.

I think your astats account has a different problem than what we are talking about here. Looks like your account is currently banned on astats. See the big red words on every page. Also here:

That wouldn't happen from changing your clock. It usually happens from gaining multiple achievements at once without actually playing the game. As far as I know you have to contact the astats admins directly for specifics.

On your steam profile you say that you block then report all private profiles that try to add you. Did you know that a private profile adding you isn't an offense to be reported? You can block them but I don't think reporting them does anything since they didn't do anything against the rules by requesting to add you.

@bmendonc maybe it has something to do with Knights of Pen and Paper +1? You were able to spend more than 9,001 gold (to get several of the Playfire rewards achievements that were going on at that time) without earning that much gold.

(IE You have the spend 9,001+ gold achievement but not the earn 9,001+ gold achievements.) The achievements go together. I'm not sure how you were able to pull that off but maybe astats flagged you for things like that?

yea, I chked, apparently I was banned for depth hunter, which was since two achviements popped at the same time, which was only because I copied my save files from my old computer to my computer, and steam added the values from both saves to get a final value, which was entirely incorrect, and resulted in both unlocking at the same time...

I hate games that dont use steam's cloud save file sync

Im kinda scared about other games that I had to copy the save files or registry entries to transfer my progress from my old computer to my new computer...

copying my 'my documents' folder covered most of the games, some games had specific registry keys that I had to copy too, tbh, I just find out where are the save files for games as I play them...

I was just telling you GameSave Manager does all that for you. Maybe you could at least check it out. It's very easy to use and I've never had any problems.

Same problem here. I have 14 invalid achivs on Astats - all Stanley Parable and also Your Doodles Are Bugged! achivs - but I don't understand why! The reason which is visible on Astats is "removed", what does it mean?

Game "removed" from steam. If you get 100% achievements in it then astats and steam will both count it towards your total of Perfect games. The only thing you miss out on is the points.

So i was and still am really annoyed that my achievements for stanley parable are marked invalid. Its not about how many games are 100% but just that it flags them as invalid. Stanley parable is a game that requires you to break out of the game and do stuff outside to get all achievements. I actually left my game running for more than 28 hours just to get the tuesday achievement (i started it before sleeping and let it running) This one is actually legit. Changing the system clock 5 years ahead is expected just as is binding the "unavailable achievement" to the x button via changing the configs.
And yes it really drives me crazy, just fix this damn validation for stanley parable please....

There have been talks about only invalidating the 5 year achievement for people who changed the system clock to achieve it, which might happen, but that is not possible at the moment.

The only way to fix the invalidation right now is to re-lock the 5 year achievement and then report to the "Blocks and Appeals" thread in the AStats forum that you have re-locked it and want to get the rest of the Stanley Parable achievement valid again.
