[Leeson]

This thread is for approved game fixes created by the community that have been well vetted and tested to be safe, as well as to be inline with only awarding the broken achievements when meeting the original intended achievement conditions.

The game fixes listed in this thread are approved and will NOT result in a game invalidation or profile ban on AStats.
Achievements obtained using these fixes will still remain marked broken on AStats and will not be worth points.
Each game fix listed in this thread will contain specific instructions on how to use the fix, what the fix does with the game code as to be transparent, and a download link.

Note: Due to other trackers not wishing to cooperate in discussion with AStats surrounding the allowed use of these fixes you may get games invalidated or banned on other trackers. Though AStats will not ban or invalidate for them.

Detailed Fix Explanation:
This fix makes the 1 broken achievement (Collect 30 lumps of mucus) in the game to be obtainable.

The fix changes the two collision detections around for the mucus so that the collision detection for counting progress to the achievement takes place first before the one which removes the mucus from the scene.

Fix Instructions:
To use the fix replace the package.nw file in the game directory with the one in the download below.

Detailed Fix Explanation:
This fix makes the 3 broken achievements in the game to be obtainable.

The fix has the two collision detections switched around for the bones so they count on pickup before being removed from the game, the main menu achievement trigger is moved so that it occurs before switching back to the menu, and the the start new game achievement trigger is moved to the Menu scene so it triggers upon clicking the play button.

Fix Instructions:
To use the fix replace the package.nw file in the game directory with the one in the download below.

Saints Row: The Third[astats.astats.nl]

Detailed Fix Explanation:
This utility helps to unlock one broken achievement in each game for creating and sharing a player character online on the now-defunct My Steelport site. The fix has been developed by the owner of the Saints Row Mods forum and allows a user to "emulate" that site on their machine to be able to make a connection and allow the achievement to unlock.

Dungeons of Dredmor[astats.astats.nl]

Detailed Fix Explanation:
A Workshop mod exists for Dungeons of Dredmor that fixes The Humanoid Typhoon, one of the three broken achievements for the game. The mod simply applies the steps below automatically to re-implement the deprecated "Deadshot" skill tree.

Fix Instructions:
Subscribe to the mod below on the Steam Workshop. Alternatively, for those who would prefer to do it manually:

• Find the skillDB.xml file under 'steamapps/common/dungeons of dredmor/game/skillDB.xml'
  
• Locate the following section in the file:

Miasmata[astats.astats.nl]

Detailed Fix Explanation:
An unofficial community patch for Miasmata has existed since 2013, adding several improvements and bugfixes which also include fixing 4 broken achievements. The achievements in question are:

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive[astats.astats.nl]

Detailed Fix Explanation:
CS:GO has 6 now-broken achievements mostly associated with maps which were removed in November 2018. The removed maps are Aztec, Dust and Shorttrain, and the following achievements are broken as a result:

• Shorttrain Map Veteran
  
• Tourist
  
• Marksman

The achievement A World of Pane is also broken due to the fact that Office was updated a month earlier with different behaviour for windows, preventing the achievement from unlocking.

However, it is possible to unlock these again by downloading the latest versions of these maps prior to their removal / update. The CS:GO development team has an official Workshop page where old versions of any map, past or present, are available to download.

Fix Instructions:
After subscribing to the following maps, load each of them at least once in an offline match against bots.

Once you have done so, navigate to your steamapps\common\Counter-Strike Global Offensive\csgo\maps\workshop folder. From here, you will need to find each of the maps you have subscribed to under their respective folders, which are all named after their community file ID - see each map's Workshop URL. Copy the map file for each one (e.g. de_aztec.bsp) to the csgo\maps folder (and make sure to back up cs_office before replacing it with the old version).

Now with the old maps installed as such, you can load up a game on each map and unlock their respective broken achievements.

Detailed Fix Explanation:
This utility helps to unlock one broken achievement in the game for unlocking the Not A Warhammer achievement in Dwarfs F2P. The scripts are public, and can be hosted fully independent if wished.

Counter-Strike: Source[astats.astats.nl]

Detailed Fix Explanation:
This is a server plugin that reimplements the Gift Grab event from 2011 for unlocking the Gift Grab achievement. The plugin is open source, and can be hosted fully independently.

Call of Duty: Black Ops - Multiplayer[astats.astats.nl]

Detailed Fix Explanation:
This fix only works due to the Mac wager match servers still being online. This is a temporary fix and will only allow the Windows wager match achievement to be unlockable until the mac multiplayer servers are pulled offline by Aspyr. This is highly likely to happen at some point in the near future since it became a removed game 1.5 years ago.

By placing a steam_appid.txt file in the executable folder of the Mac Multiplayer version when launching the Mac Multiplayer version from the executable this causes Steam to launch the game under the Windows multiplayer name. This means when the game goes to unlock the In the Money wager match achievement it'll unlock it against the Windows edition.
