The issue is that I’m unable to remove this game. It doesn't appear in the 'My Licenses' section, nor in my library, likely because I haven’t played it in a long time. However, the game still shows up in the 'Games' section of my profile, along with the achievements I've earned.

My achievements, as well as my Average Game Completion Rate, are still linked to this game. I’m concerned that free games are counted and cannot be permanently removed. :steamsad:

To remove a game you can go to:
• Help
• Steam Support
• at the end of the Site you can search for your game
• the last option should say something like "remove permanently"
• then remove it

If it is not in your library anymore, just look it up in the store and add it again.

What it does with your Avg. Game Completion I can't say for sure, but I guess it will still count like it does with any other game.

The avg completion rate will not change even after you remove a game from your account. After you get the 1st achievement in a game, that game will always count towards the %.

The only solution is to mark the game as private in your game library. Once you do that, all traces of the game disappear. Both your achievement count and Avg. Completion will update as if you never played the game.

The updated stats will be visible to your friends and strangers alike. For you, however, they won’t change - but that’s both logical and a minor detail.

That's the only way. Steam updated its policy, and since this summer, free games are included in the counter, and there’s nothing you can do about it.

Ooh, this is news to me. Perhaps I will have to test this later by hiding a couple games in which the servers have been shut down.

Since 8 Marth 2023 this is not true for free games. (as you can read above)
There is a guide that states that after 2024 they changed this back

Id say own it, show people you've played it. Just 100% more games to make up for it. I'm trying for 50% since I started. I have a lot of games I know right now Ill never 100%, but that's ok I will 100% 4 more in its place of games I enjoy.

I've tried it and if you make the game private, either paid or free, it wont count to the completion rate when other people are seeing it. You'll see it tho
