The only way to do this is to play user made levels after you finish the game itself or have people play your levels. Took me more than 20 hours of in game time checking in every day to play a few levels for several weeks.
as for the specific question, there's a ton, i'll have to think about which one i hate most - lol
@Cthulhu Girl - That one's coming up in my backlog, thanks for the warning, sounds like a royal pain.
@ӾӾ - Time played shouldn't effect the achievement, unless it specifically says unlock everything/complete game AND play for at least #X hours.
Find an enemy that's immune to earth magic, then cast earth magic on it for a few hours. Repeat for other spells.
It's also my rarest achievement, 0.4%.
depends if you are having fun or not, i know for sure that if i am bored by trying to get an achievement i will be less likely to get it at all OR take longer to get it because i will be less efficient due to boredom and stuff.
stat grinding achieves based on (often rigged...) RNG like the Agarest ones come to mind as falling under this category...
That's the one to max out all jobs with all characters. You can gain a max of one job level per battle. Yeah, that was pretty awful and on average the grinding alone takes 100+ hours,
Killing lots of monsters will make you famous among the populace and infamous among the monsters. Kill 500000 enemies.
That was crazy. Even after 2 playthroughs you were still only at 35000 or something enemies. I think the grinding took over 50 hours.
For example the Digger(dug up 50 treasures), Kleptomaniac(pick 100 locks), Big Game Hunter(kill 2000 Monsters) and a lot more.........
It's very annoying because to obtain them you have to play the game at least two times(is not that bad as it sounds as there are diffrent ways to play the game), but when you exit the game or it chrashes the counter is set to zero again, so I played it two times without turning it of, THEN IT CRASHED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
EDIT: Muffin Knight: HoHoHo collect 50 muffins in SantaVille, it's the hardest level and I died several times at 49.
Go Home Dinosaurs! has Go Home Dinosaurs achievement to "send home" (defeat) 10000 dinosaurs. In principle it would take 3 playthroughs, though some levels were better than the rest for this purpose. This grindy part was only 10 hours or so.
Battle Ranch! has an achievement for harvesting 100000 fruit. This can be done with the in-game garden, like in Plants vs. Zombies and it can be automatized somewhat, buying a the collector thing every 30 minutes. Still, it took me almost 100 hours to do.
Tap Heroes has an achievement for killing one million monsters. It's a slow process, even optimizing by playing at a really low level and therefore being able to kill 2 monsters per second it still takes over 100 hours. For me it took 200 hours.
The last one is a work-in-progress for me:
OMG Zombies! needs to be completed 20 times. Every playthrough lasts 3-4 hours depending on your luck and whether your strategy is good for specific runs. I'm about half-way through with it. I expect it to take at least 100 hours, and I play it now only occasionally.
Borderlands : What a party!
and speaking of grindy achievements, I don't know if I'll ever get clicker heroes or adventure capitalist(those moon achivements are so slow) done.
Ichi - 1000 points was a hell of agrind, gotta agree Cthulhu Girl, but i really enjoyed the game, though it took me about 20h as well
OMG Zombies! - 20 complete playthough, it takes time Twistor but again, i really really enjoy the game, so it doesn't feel like a grind at all, i play some and then just quit, longest session i can endure is about 40min, then i get really bored and call it a day. i'm pretty sure i'll miss it when i'll 100% it for good... i'm about to get the 15th prestige
Team Fortress 2 - all the 'win X games on Y map' with X from 137 to 142 for different maps... only grinded the funny maps for now, Foundry and Doomsday... can't really force myself to like the others, especially Snakewater :P
Warframe - all mastery-related ones: mastery is a score you increase by leveling to max level any piece of equipment, from suits (warframes of course) weapons, companions, companions' weapons, vehicles. you can do that only once per item/frame, so you have to get everything and max it out at least once. now it should be pointed out that many items are stuck between multiple RNG walls, or very costly clan research projects. took me almost 1000 hours to get to the max mastery rank available at the time i quit playing... now after almost 2 years the bar is only 3 or 4 notches higher. pretty sure support for the game will stop before there are enough items in the game to get to max rank (of course every rank costs much more that the previous one)
Homefront - get 200 kills with all weapons and vehicles and handheld drones and support weapons (about 6000 kills total), 100 wins in each game mode (there are 3) and a kill-streak of 10 with every gun... gonna take a few hundreds hours, i'm only about 40% in, not gonna make it
nah, clicker heroes is not that bad, problem is people just follow guides instead of thinking with their own head, and unfortunately the mainstream way to play the game is also the slowest for progression! actual grindy achievements like kill 1.5M monsters is just time consuming, but you can just leave the game running for 10 days straight without doing anything and you are good
and forget about advance cap, few things come to mind as broken as adventure cap these days. either the devs rebalance the whole thing or you'll never move from 50% completion
"Kill 50,000 enemies"
My crazy meeting with Borderland:
