I've seen a lot of comments saying they hated the ending. But the game makes it clear throughout the game many times what to expect. I don't want to include spoilers here so I won't specify. I thought the story was fun and engaging. Really loved the vibrant atmosphere....

The game itself was amazing. Artstyle, music, atmosphere, voice acting (THE VOICE ACTING). But the depressing, infuriating crappiness of the ending ruined the entire game for me. In short: Thomasina's father dies, it's implied her mother hates her, and she spends the rest of her life rotting in a dungeon cell all alone while the antagonists live happily ever after. Hey folks, i played Black Mirror recently and enjoyed it so much that i was looking for similar games. Then i found The excavation of HB just in time and REALLY enjoyed it too. Great game. I'm just curious to learn at what points people got stuck, if anywhere at all, whether it is the same spots or entirely different ones, from one player to the next, and how you dealt with it. Might be interesting for the devs as well. Personally, I tried to play without ever using a walkthrough or hints, and I nearly succeeded with this game.
