The experience lacked agency as I didn't feel like I solved a crime. Instead, I was just picking the answer that I liked the best and clicked through the text of LLD presenting all the bits I'd haphazardly collected. Paradise Killer could have been condensed down into a 2-3 hour experience with the focus on sorting through the facts and truths which might have helped this feeling of agency. Instead, collecting and running between the characters fluffed out the experience to about 10 hours. Compared to Outer Wilds where the database of info and leads guides the next steps, I didn't find starlight useful to guide the investigation even in this fluffed out state and just followed the exclamation points and "Hang Outs" until I had almost every piece of evidence and relics. Overall, I would call this a visual novel that failed to respect my time.
