I remember liking this game for the most part but the bosses are so badly designed that i cannot imagine anybody having fun with them.

As someone who's never played a SMB game, I've always been curious from the outside looking in. But all the negative reviews on here seem very "inside baseball," constantly referencing the other SMB games (which I have no understanding of/familiarity with). Can someone explain why this game should not be my first SMB game?...
