For the very first introduction to Japanese in the game, this is an awful oversight. Context: Konnichiwa is written as こんにちは - so it's very misleading - to start the game with such an inaccuracy doesn't set good optimism for the rest of the game.. I'm sure many others have noticed this and may have been put off by it...
