Hotfix 2: Stability Fix for RTX 40 and 50 Series

2:14pm

Survivors!

Another hotfix is on its way, this time for the newer NVIDIA cards.

What's new

FSR is now disabled on NVIDIA RTX 40 and 50 series graphics cards, to cut down crashes on these GPUs.

The update should download automatically. If you don't see it, just restart Steam.

What's next

The team keeps going through all your reports and working on better performance across as many PCs as possible. More hotfixes will follow this weekend.

Still crashing? Take a look at the fixes pinned in our Bug Reporting section, and send us your logs at https://filehub.toplitz-productions.com/ so we can dig into it.

Thank you for your patience and all the reports. Stay warm out there!

Permafrost

No creature spawns

Started a co-op game and there are no deer to kill around horizon. Gave up looking and proceeded through the bone cave, the injured bear is in there but when you come out the other side there are still no deer or boar or moose. I kept progressing further through the map and not a single creature in sight? Can’t complete the mission for Robyn and cannot progress...

Bug Reporting

Rented Server

When using rented server there are no deer spawning in the game. So I can't progress any further in the game. I didn't change any of the server settings and I have restarted both game/server many times.

bug main mission

In the section where you have to pick up a blueprint from the top of a tower, if someone grabs it before speaking to the character, the game glitches; the blueprint never reappears, and you can't progress in the story.

Guys, I'm sorry. Give this one more time in the oven, it is not good. And that is really unfortunate, there is some amount of passion in this one, something that makes me want to keep it in my library for later but the technical production value is abysmal.

The game crashed twice trying to create the world.
The third try, I loaded in fine. But the sound didnt work? How do you mess that one up?
Fourth try worked fine. Unfortunately even on my sturdy-ish rig, running at 1440p on medium settings, the game would crater to 30fps pretty regularly.
The multiplayer, really didn't work once I finally got in the game, the coop partner would crash when they entered an area with npc.

And mind you, this is less that 30 minutes of gameplay. Just avoid this one for a while. The devs have work to do.

Except for The Long Dark, there really is not much in the way of winter survival games. I've only been playing an hour or so but I must say I'm enjoying it so far. The game is not perfect, some of the animations are a little janky, but nothing catastrophic or game breaking. I have not had any crashing issues that other users have mentioned. I look forward to watching the game continue development.

Lovely game so far! I don't know why there are so many negative reviews about performance and mouse control.

The game runs fine on my 7900 XTX with everything set to max, hitting 100 FPS without any upscaling.

I've played for a good hour now, and the game hasn't crashed once. And even if it did, it's still an Early Access game that was released just 3 hours ago.
