Despite being a fan of the old first two Aliens Vs. Predator games on PC from way back, and the fact that this installment in the series is from 2010, I'm only just now playing this in 2024 and I must say... I am not disappointed! Even for a game that is now 14 years old at the time of writing this, the graphics are still nice and the gameplay is well designed.

If you aren't familiar with AVP games up to this point, this one is conceived of much like the others with three separate (albeit overlapping) campaigns allowing you to play as a human Colonial Marine, a Predator, and an Alien (Xenomorph) respectively.

Each of the three has a totally different play style. If you want a more scary experience, the marine campaign delivers high tension and occasional jumpscares along with the thrill of blasting enemies with guns and explosives.

If you want a more tech/gadget focused hunting experience, the powerful Predator can jump through the trees and use an invisibility cloak as well as wristblades and gadgets.

Finally the Alien campaign (my personal favorite so far) delivers clever wall-crawling stealth with brutal up-close and personal kills utilizing the aliens fierce second mouth, claws and tail blade.

While I'm not a fan of multiplayer in general, there's also a pretty robust multiplayer mode to be had that was made popular in the old games as well.

That said, it's Aliens VS Predator. If you're interested in this game, chances are you're already a fan of the property so there's no reason to think you wouldn't enjoy this game. Give it a go, especially if you can get it on sale.

Great game, even graphically, after all these years.
