Troubleshooting: Game doesn't start / Crashes on start

Hey guys! I've just recently installed the game for the first time, I've gone through all points in OP: no luck still :(

My error message seems to be fairly common here: "Failed to initialize Direct
3D..."

Here is my console.log contents:

Getting FFXI working through Steam Link with controller

The game is wrong, but something about launching through the Steam Link messed with the graphics

I was opened the game, and showed the message as below:
