FFXI has it's Subjob system, that works great for that purpose. You can have RDM/WHM for instance, both for quite decent heals and really strong Enfeeblements.

1 . concerning notepad, I knew it, but the developers don't use notepad, they certainly have a program to enter all the data for ships, planes, etc..(like for creating missions in the game). It's a pity I don't do programming anymore, because I could have done it!

2. It's up to DEV. to give us the Roadmap, they should know where they're going, shouldn't they? I think (IF? ) they're doing the French Navy, which logically should only cover the Cold War period (1950/1990) anyway?

1 . concernant le notepad, je le savais, mais les développeurs n'utilisent pas notepad, ils ont certainement un programme pour rentrer toutes les données pour les navires, avions, etc..(comme pour créer les missions dans le jeu). C'est dommage que je ne fais plus de programmation car j'aurais pu le faire !

2. C'est aux DEV. de nous donner la Roadmap, ils doivent savoir vers où ils vont non ? je pense que (SI ? ) ils font la Marine Nationale que de toute façon dans la logique ils devraient faire uniquement la période de la Guerre froide (1950/1990) ?

I don't want to dismiss OP's post out of hand. My first argument would be "They do do stories." and I would argue Ram Tah's Guardian missions are "Story" and of course the big Thargoid campaign that wrapped up some time ago.

I'm not against a more directed story that stays in-line with what Elite Dangerous should be, if I had to armchair a way to do it, I'd say give players every "Season" (EG: Thargoid War was one "Season") a Single but complex multi-step weekly or Monthly Mission. Totally optional obviously but enticing with rewards that, after a while do get sent to the Tech Brokers for everyone. Focus more on characters in the galaxy.

And probably most importantly, always have a counterplay and even a PVP counterplay mission, even if it's simple, so people can RP opposition if a "Main Story" goes against their character motivation.

I mostly think adding "Story" would be a good way to flesh out the "world" (galaxy) lore and interact with it. In my opinion the Engineers should have been like "Story" content, and structurally you can say they are. Like the base framework of a story, with no presentation layer.

I never had issues in combat in this game. Nor melee, neither range. You do something very wrong or not unerstand how the game mechanics works. Even more, you do not want to learn, but prefer to create another whining topic. This is pathetic.

guys please. Just burn these ideas to the ground and make it play like sc2. Noones playing the game. I really fear for any longevity. You are making things noone is playing. Why exactly are you investing into a solo campaign stuff? I fear you are you listening to that one guy who whines really loud, casually plays the game, has way too much time on his hands with 10 different accounts making it look like theres engagement. Ive tried and tried and tried to force myself to play the game, all the while thinking, i could just play starcraft or AOE for a change in pace. Please guys, i love the games idea, it has something, its nearly there in terms of a fun RTS, ive come round to the style but its simply mass this and send it in, the game is literally a one fight game or lose to an early aggression. SC2, now weve seen legion, zerospace, that other one i forgot already is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ masterpiece, this is 3rd place to me but damn. You just have to see it this way. As i said, i fear ur just going to pull the plug when you are so nearly there.
