last week i had the same thought as u. I was worried about the pay wall but since it was on sale i decided to give it a try, 5 days and 70+ hours later i am HOOKED.

During my time enjoying and grinding the game, i have never experienced a “paywall”. Although the things that other people have said abt the game not letting u keep ur loot after exceeding a limit unless u pay for more space is sort of true, you can always “grind” more to either sell off or loot for in game currencies, or to compress it into another form of loot that takes up less space.

All in all i think instead of the paywall u should be worrying about the bugs. I would say the game is pretty smooth. But after completing all the main wuests, there are a couple of times when i had to go to reddit to find solutions to some game breaking bugs.

but do i recommend? ABSOLUT YE

Yeah, almost one year old article. No action taken from Valve since the article.

They don't have to take action just because someone in politics says they should. Valve could very well believe they're doing enough already, so don't think more action is warranted.

Maybe they should do more, but unless they are legally required to do so, I don't see them doing that.

Cheating has been a problem in online video-gaming for decades now. It started with FPS-games, but has gradually moved to fighting games in the past five years or so. And the developers of Tekken 8 know this. They even acknowledged it during the early days of Tekken 7, but were able to do nothing more than give us empty promises as time went by. And in the end? They stopped answering to any queries on the matter altogether.

In Tekken 8 they straight-up refuse to acknowledge the issue. Not because they do not want to do anything about it, but because they don't know how to. And because fighting cheaters is expensive, they would have to create anti-cheating mechanics into the game in-house and it would probably cause a whole lot of bugs into the game, that would also further delay the game's development. And since Namco is having financial troubles - has been for the past two years or so due to the frivolous spending on mobile game development that went nowhere - I don't think even they are interested on spending a single dime on this issue. Its not like its preventing people from buying their horribly overpriced and recycled cosmetics, now is it?

Face it; in the past two and a half decades the FPS-players were never able to root out these cancerous players, and as a result had to watch their beloved games wither away and die as people grew tired of being constantly forced to fight against people using cheats. The fighting games are not unique in this, and thus will face the same fate at the end.

The only true way of getting rid of online cheating? Remove the ability to play online altogether. Its as simple as that. Start playing at your friends' houses and at local gather hubs with like minded people. If someone brings a console/PC with cheats in it, they can be just banned from entering and have their real name spread around as known cheater.

This is how it was done in the old days. Simple and efficient. I also personally prefer to physically sit near to the people I'm playing against; makes the whole thing a lot more social and fun.

For real! This beta was absolute trash. Between cheaters blasting past EA Javelin, the terrible maps and poor hit detection, this is literally the worst BF game I have ever played. I would much rather play BF4 or even Hardline a 100 times over. In fact, this game sucks so bad I had to immediately quit and go play BF4 to remind me how much better it was and still is. It's a $70 game that will include a battle pass you also have to buy plus a 25 level skip you can buy (lol). Just go play Fortnite, it's got a better engine with Unreal 5.X, 100% free with a better, cheaper battlepass with better stuff on it, plus an entire editor so you could actually make your own games for it. Oh yeah and did I mention, it's free.
