would agree and i really wanna cause 40% of my games are fun but the other 60% are just one sided especially cause im not using the GOOD nations like germany and the us i play japan so i can get some cas for my tanks im usually a ground only player

I know that this saying is corny as hell, but "It's the pilot, not the plane." Now there are some exceptions like the SU-11 and the Yak Series of UFOs but it's generally true.

Awesome!!! A diner is a great option. I love that. Maybe eventually we'll also get an abandoned hotel.

People are bricking their pc's doing so. If they don't brick, some are losing everything forcing a reinstall of windows.

(Not typing while walking, this is from memory so some terms will likely be off)

Polearms (IE charge resistance) + the capstone in the left side of the tree (tireless retaliations iirc) can make them a real blender against anything that dares attack them.

Push attack is actually rather good precisely due to it initiating defense mode. Dragon tail swipe has the same attribute and allows dragons to offensively apply defense mode by cycling the two abilities.

I suspect there is some bias going on in regards to melee. Most obviously Dragons are very strong and yet are inherently a melee hero. This is doubly so since they are MORE vulnerable due to being giants (IE ranged FF and polearm vulnerability)

Part of the reason heroes are so strong is that they don't lose damage weigh HP due to lacking a squad.

The biggest issue with defenders is likely twofold:

1) Have to be wary of mounted defenders Leeroy Jenkins the fight if your army is infantry. (This issue is shared with dragons…)

2) in PvP retaliation builds are inherently limited since the opponent may just ignore the hero.

Can you actually make the swim? I tried swimming from town and was making good progress until I just suddenly drown.

Yes you can do it, I did it from the main house one time.

I would love a minimap too, but the developers have decided that a minimap harms immersion and they seem unlikely to add one.

They would prefer that you navigate by identifying landmarks and using them to orient yourself in the zone, as one might do in real life. I personally find this to be a tad troublesome, as remembering landmarks only works well if you play the game through in one sitting. Taking breaks and coming back to the game is going to wipe your memory of landmarks. And while the game is visually gorgeous, a lot of the zones have extremely limited (almost monochromatic) color palettes, which can hamper this notion of landmark navigation.

I didn't play for a month and then loaded up my save, and I was in the middle of some zone that I didn't really remember well. Took my like an hour just to find my way out back to the overworld, because I didn't have a minimap to just point me to the exit.

But if they never add one, it's still a great game. I'll still play and enjoy it. I just think it would be a nice QOL, and I don't believe it would detract from the game in any way.
