As far as I know they didn't even need to support Linux, what they did is BLOCKED Linux with this anti cheat on purpose. Because with this anti cheat there is a way to allow Linux, so possibly they have something against Linux because the lack of control on users unlike Windows 11

It's a joker class for the low skilled meta abusers, and they also drop alot of money in the shop so Embark caters to them sadly..

If it was meta then why is it one of the least picked classes? I see double the lights than I do heavy players unless its powershift. Clothing can also be used on every character, its not class exclusive? lol

Heavy was the least picked class because it required a high degree of skill to be effective, and it was not very fun to play compared to the high mobility Lights and Mediums had. Now, Heavy has all these cheesy mechanics that boost their tankiness, lock enemies in place, and give themselves and their teammates passive healing, all the while freeing their hands to dps / reload / steal, etc. Lights don't really have an issue vs Heavies because of their high DPS and ways to evade attack. But Mediums have virtually no answer to Heavies right now. I'm not necessarily saying Heavies should be nerfed, though I wouldn't be against a bit of detuning. I'd rather see Mediums get some love because all they've been getting this season is nerf after nerf. Could start with giving Mediums a glitch grenade, to remove the shields and passive healing.

It's sad EA still hasn't fixed this it's been an issue with other Battlefields for a while.
I think it's the Logitech app triggering the anti-cheat, or maybe other apps like that.
This is just a simple workaround.
These are the problem files (found in the game’s root directory):
preloader_l.dll
EAAntiCheat.GameServiceLauncher.dll
EAAntiCheat.GameServiceLauncher.exe
For Steam:
Located in: SteamApps/common/Battlefield V
For EA App installs:
Located in the root folder of the game, for example:
E:\Battlefield 2042
E:\Battlefield 6 Event
Basically, you need to open the EA App and repair the game you want to fix.
If you're on Steam, clear the cache or verify game files.
Repairing the game usually restores the anti-cheat files and fixes the issue.
but having to do that every single time is extremely annoying.
What you should do:
After repairing the game dont start it, back up the clean files to a separate folder like:
E:\Backups2042
E:\BackupsBF6
Inside each backup folder, you should have:
-preloader_l.dll
-EAAntiCheat.GameServiceLauncher.dll
-EAAntiCheat.GameServiceLauncher.exe
-You only need to repair one game and get one clean set of files, that will work for all of them-
Then you can either manually drag them in each time and replace the broken files with the clean ones,
or use a script that pull the clean file to games files.
The following script works but you will need to change the paths to match your computer.

Thanks for the info! I'd have to start a new playthrough to confirm, but I want to say that I built the lean-to, got the adaptation quest, tried to pick something, and it wouldn't let me choose anything, and that I hadn't done any other possible quests unless crafting a hammer from the C menu counts (possibly the leaf tent for the bed). I for certain built the workbench after getting the quest and not being able to choose an adaptation, because I was scrambling to get the bed down before nightfall so I could sleep through whatever danger might come up. (I at best had a hammer--possibly not even that, so I wasn't prepared to fight!) I may possibly have built the tent shelter to go over the bed first, but I'm not sure if that would effect the adaptation quest or not.

I'll send a screenshot once I can get into the game again, and I'll have a look at what I may have built that might mess up the adaptation quest--maybe the third time is the charm!
