Again, stop defending garbage. And yes, what you did is a exploit. They obviously never intended for people to have a massive backlog of rewards from subscription waiting thus why theirs RP sales, and timers on the tokens themselves.

They rushed this game so damn much they overlooked many bugs and exploits that coulda have been prevented with proper planning and implementation.

You sir, are the problem with gaming, along with anyone else defending this garbage. Its why these companies keep getting away with this crap. And its why I will be here, to make sure you dont try to mislead anyone else. Cuz im sick of what these companies has done to my favorite hobby.

Unfortunately, I don't see a return to weapon arms nor dual-shoulder single trigger weapons.

These existed back in the day for very specific reasons, but the ACs of Gen 6 have evolved to a point where they no longer make sense.

Weapon Arms did not provide any defense points when they were implemented all the way back in the very first AC title. They only provided AP. There were limits to what weapons they wanted on the arms as well. Gen 2 didn't provide any noticeable advancements on weapon arms. Gen 3, however, did -by implementing secondary modes to weapon arms kind of like how energy weapons, and certain rifles and missile launchers have secondary modes in Gen 6. However, Gen 3 was also the start of part jettisoning -which was another aspect that weapon arms lacked. They didn't implement a way to jettison the weapon part of the arms so you could gain at least something back in the way of speed once the ammo was used up.

So, if the standard weapons now have alternate modes, the only real advantages to W-arms would be to permit one to fit more offensive power on a build but utilizing less weight -or if the w-arms offered certain advantages over the Arm mounted counterparts.

Ok, so you have w-arms that have some advantages in exchange for some counter intuitive aspects -and suddenly you realize that you also can't make use of hangers with them. Hangers were introduced back in Nexus (Gen 3.5). You couldn't jettison the W-arms back then either so hanger cores couldn't use their function. In AC6's world, it seems they are heavier on the hanger function at times due to certain weaponry not existing on the back slots or trading a back slot for the versatility of a different arm mount. It kind of solves the loss of ammo packs that also happened with Nexus and had otherwise been a staple up until that point.

We don't have to ask if they could map the w-arms, because Gen 4 simple set them up so each arm had individual ammo and acted like an arm mount -you just couldn't jettison them when ammo ran out.

They'd do the same with dual-shoulder cannons. There are single mount cannons in AC6 that very much carry the spirit of old dual-shoulder cannons of old, especially if both are charged up before firing. There is advantage to not having cannons on both shoulders tied in tandem at the trigger. You can actually stagger the firings of back weapons and there is no longer complaining that the dual-shoulder unit is too heavy for your LW AC and man if only you could take the Left or Right section only and deal with the ammo being reduced by half because it just looks so dope in design that it's a shame it can only be equipped dual shoulder. It should also be noted that some dual shoulder units didn't make sense in their weight in some of the older games and this was providing an unfair and illogical advantage to those parts (typically the missile packs).


I will agree that from a cosmetic perspective and considerations to the DNA of Armored Core, it feels weird not having weapon arms in the mix.

I'm one of the few who like to point out that in the Project Phantasma intro animation that one of the ACs had asymmetrical weapon arms attached -something that not one single AC title has ever permitted to happen. I didn't play 5th gen, but I haven't seen anything to date that suggests that 5th gen broke the standards of tradition and finally enabled the player to finally pick two different w-arms for each side, let alone a W-arm for one side and a standard one for the other. It's one of the things that Daemon x Machina shoved in their face -but there are only like 3-5 variants of w-arm in DxM and IMO most of them are absolute trash compred to just having the arm mounts (but that game suffers from a lot of balancing issues with the weapons and parts that would be a LOT to get into off topic here).

I assume that had Gen 6 offered W-arms, that someone would have already gone to the work of making w-arms able to be partially equipped and not require both arms to be equipped to -which would allow for one arm to be open to being a standard arm which then allows for that side to be able to make use of jettison and hanger functions.

I almost want to suggest back shields may have played a part in the matters, but some of the hand mount cannons are pretty darn long as-is and makes me wonder how the shield wouldn't interfere with them being equipped.

I kind of wish they would have made more weapon for the arms that implement a W-arms visual. IMO, the pulse-missiles ended up doing a good job of giving w-arms aesthetics that I kind of wish other parts would have done as well.
