At what point do I actually get to, you know, *play the game*? Play a role? Something other than doing what the developers demand I do with no options?

I at at the *mandatory* visit to the ripperdoc where there is *mandatory* implantation of cyberware, taking on a *mandatory* debt.

Am I playing a game or watching a slightly interactive movie?
It's a open-world game with a story, not a sandbox game with absolute freedom. You can breeze through the starting story missions, get past The Heist, than do what you want. There will also be other parts in the game that'll involve dialogue and long cutscenes. If you don't have the patience for that, then don't play another minute and request a refund as this game isn't for you.

If you plan on staying, than do note:

- You can complete side-missions before doing the Ripperdoc mission, and collecting 20K Eddies will allow you to pay up front, skipping the "mandatory" debt mission.

- You can go to a Ripperdoc and remove your "mandatory" cyberware if you don't like it.
(Minus your eye cyberware, your flesh-and-blood ones got chucked in the meat grinder. Yes this is a joke.)

- You are stuck in the starting district under the narrative its under lockdown, after completing the main starting missions The Heist, and then Playing For Time, the rest of the map becomes available. (IIRC)

- If you are still confused than look up a "new player walkthrough and/or tips and tricks" or something. I'm sure you'll be able to find one.

The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons

And Ages. If just to see Nayru in 3D lol.
...
Isn't my number 2 pick but I also know that realistically, if Seasons ever gets remade, Ages HAS TO as well since they are two parts and you can't play through the whole game without both.

Probably but Nintendo are also weird with this stuff, even with the password, save file transfer thing. They still haven't made Prime 2 or Prime 3 available on Switch and Prime 4 is (confirmed by Nintendo) this year, so 4 months lol.

So... a little bit a cheeky choice on my part. ...but yeah, I like Seasons better for many reasons. The design is nostalgic, the puzzles aren't as bad, you get 5 worlds to explore instead of just 2, Din is hot.... that last one is the only one I was really thinking about when I chose it but the other stuff is true too.

She's the goddess of fire lol, but yes. Seasons core mechanic is better, but combat in early Zelda is so basic that combat focused dungeons just feel bland, Ages is more interesting with all the puzzles and is genuinely actually hard at points

... And really they should have made a 3rd game as Faroe got shafted hard, but that’s a different timeline I guess. ...
A timeline where these games didn't come out until at least the 3DS, since the main reason it didn't happen is because it made the passwords for the game transfer system far too long and complicated.

that entire system just didn't seem necessary imo

... But yeah those games badly need remakes, they done LA, but it’s just pretty awkward to play Seasons and Ages with the limited buttons and screen space. ...
This is why I had no problem making a list of 11 things I'd want, in order - it's mostly stuff that could really use a remake to make it more accessible or more amazing.

Btw, if anyone knows the name of that Flash game I described about the girl and the revival machine, please tell me what it's called or where I can find it again.

Anyway my own pick would be Majoras Mask without the weird changes they made for the 3D remake, made the bosses different, messed up physics for Deku, completely ♥♥♥♥♥♥ the Zora transformation tech. Nerrel made a video on it if you want pure obsession.
Majora's Mask is my favorite game. My main issues with the changes in the 3DS version are how they messed up gameplay options. So I don't mind some of the weird changes but I think they took away too many options :

it's one of my favs too, you seem like you have refined taste and i'm not just being biased

- ice arrows should be usable anywhere - yes I can use them to get out of bounds in Great Bay and see the temple model up close, that only makes the game even better!

I forgot about that, good example of handholding that wasn't needed

- Odolwa and Goht should just go back to his original version.

they ruined Ghot, the pacing is destroyed by having to slow down and shoot the weird eyeball thing, rather than being pure aggression with chasing him

- Gyorg.... ehh... I'm fine with either version.

was always a jenk fight tbh, it feels like you just cheese him

- Twinmold should let you fight it the new way or still be killable with careful arrow shots.

I sort of get that they wanted to make the giants mask actually needed, but it was a really weird fight, i remember being stuck funnily enough

- Keep the extra Gormon Bros side quest (thank god for 1 more bottle - just kidding but really this was a good addition)

You know I forgot this was even added, so I guess eh, it clearly wasn't an impactful sidequest

- Make Deku Link faster again. I'd accept that he's slow if they redesigned the game around it but like... they didn't even bother to make the lily pad placement outside the palace correct - you can barely make those jumps because Deku was never supposed to be this slow.

Yep, it was another weird change

- Make Inverted Song of Time slow by the full amount again instead of only a fraction of what it used to, like it does now. iirc, it used to slow to 1/3 but now it's only 1/2.

I think adding all the owl statues for permanent saves makes this fine, it just killed the 6 day challenge which is fun to try though

- I can live with the Zora change, makes Chatteu Romani actually have a purpose - although make it easier to get earlier then.

see you have to ask yourself if a midgameish dungeon requiring a 200 rupee item is good game design though, even on 100% runs Great Bay Temple is still only about halfway through.

Odds are high average person playing blind does GBT with a handful of pickups and struggles, they might not even have double magic because getting all the fairies in Snowhead Temple is quite a task. rather than it being a super fun addition to movement it's now an annoying slow thing where they have to go grab magic potions of some kind. Nevermind that GBT is already Water Temple on steroids, so backtracking is expected.

I probably watched Nerrel's video already but thanks for reminding me. I should probably look him up and subscribe since at the time I just didn't ever press that button for anyone.

nerrel has some weird takes in some videos, but does explain his points thoroughly

Anyways... remakes messing things up are why I didn't even include Paper Mario N64 on my list because as much as I would love a modern version of that, I'm not fond of the idea of it getting modern Paper Mario treatment or at minimum the treatment that the Superstar Saga remake got, which wasn't as bad, but still had some glaring issues.

I don't think PM really needs a remake, aside from 16:9, it has a distinct style and fits the period. I'm already stuck waiting for 4k60 TTYD as they decided to make the remake halve the fps of the GC version, like seriously.

I have to reply to each point since it's Zelda, so i'm putting mine in bold, otherwise it'd be like 50 different quotes.

The only things I'll add, is the remake making the bombers notebook more helpful is good, and the permanent owl statues is good, though the temp save was ok, there's always a worry of crashing and losing potentially over 2hrs of progress is not great for a 30hr game (or any game for that matter). I don't really like the over-brightening either, MM is a dark game, some areas look weirdly pretty or clean in the remake.
