I opened it just because thats what its for. and went to games, went to 100% clicked the first game and looked at time stamps.

What I just encountered was new to me.

Ecliptic ship landed.

I boarded, killed the entire crew, looted it all.
Disembarked, killed ground crew. Then the ship...
Took off! With no crew alive!

Did you leave the heat leech alive? There is a bug that if you aggro the heat leech it can and will pilot the ship. It's a quirk of the AI, most of the time the game knows a heat leech isn't a pilot. Sometimes it misses it.
