Right it can take time. Thats exactly what the CT program is for. Which isnt doing its job. Read my post two up from this one

Go into Program Files (x86) > Steam > steamapps > common > Soulworker_GB

there is going to be a folder called "General" Edit it with notepad and edit "SCREENMODE" to 1. This sets your ingame screenmode to windowed fullscreen, sadly when you set the game on full fullscreen when you restart the game it bugs out.

Thanks, compatibility mode with XP Service Pack 3 worked for me.

Steam is a better overall user experience. Its that simple. Free stuff is great ONLY if you like where its coming from. I have no games from EGS not even the free ones. I refuse to download or use their launcher and don't like the way they do business. Steam is objectively the better platform as far as features and user experience. I see what Epic is doing and its basically bribery to use their service. I don't like that practice so I wont support it.

But you do like Valve's business practice of abusing their market power to harm consumers and competitors by preventing pricing competition.

i see some people are still confused. the OG mechanics are the reason the OG failed in the first place. putting it back on a dead game is diabolical

Yeah the wheel was too confusing for some but I liked it. The ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ mechanic was aegis, just a terrible idea all around. But imo not putting out content for years was what really killed it. They were doing well for a couple years, events were always fun and packed (loved original Samhain), but they're Funcom and they live to gargle their shareholder's balls. So they stopped making content, fixing bugs and keeping the game current, and moved on to the next cash grab.

And OP, maaaaan I'd love a re-revamp of this game. It would absolutely fly nowadays, but Funcom needs to let go of the IP and a competent studio needs to take over.
