I think it has a lot to do with tailoring the design to fit the limitations of the mobile phone market. Most decent strategy games simply can't be played on a mobile phone.

yea thats whats kept me from stuff like atlantic fleet. the only game ive seen succeed as mobile port straight to pc is vietnam war, but its bc its so unique too tho

It's not on point. Pilots, skilled in spatial recognition and exceptional coordination doesn't make them "brilliant" in their thinking. I know several pilots some that were combat pilots, I have never met one that considers themselves great thinkers. A few do seem to have a bent that their opinion should have more consideration than non-combatants.

And this isn't about being brilliant, it is however a challenge to the vague argument that a game is dumbed down.

To be blunt, the number of posts I have read from some of the players that post, cogency is no where on the table. That isn't a game problem, it does however suggest dumbing down isn't specific to a game.

What I suspect the meaning of dumbing down is, some to many dynamics are changed, stream lined perhaps. Or maybe simplified for any number of reasons. I also suspect that pattern recognition is sometimes too much work for some players, so the game is dumbed down.

And finally back to the pilot thing. Pilots, generally speaking don't start the race at the back of the class room, metaphorically speaking. Correlation is not causation.

Fair enough.

Clothing/Armour change was an unnecessary simplification.
I remember the joy of finding a puffer coat or duster.

Zombie pathing is predictable and silly at times. Using obstacles and walls
you can easily clear lvl 5 poi's.

I would not say the game was dumbed down on purpose. After 10 years it never really
smartened up.

Honestly you should add a system where you can hand make fireworks.

Yeah I see the fun in that for sure, but its not on the todo. Maybe in a Fireworks Mania 2 or something at some point :)

You should make it so when players TP they dont collide with anything because when im doing a store they clip with my fireworks and registers and fireworks and same when im making a show

Well the last 20 games I played I had like 6 good ones, the other 14 were borderline torture because of leavers, cheaters and game breaking bugs (income exploit, technical issues - 5080 dropping to 7 fps LOL). So yeah I guess I am out aswell.
