Movement is too fast

I was also worried that the movement would be too fast but having played the open beta for two or three hours I can't say it felt fast,.it felt quite natural. And the thing I was worried about the most, bunny hopping and dolphin diving and sliding, I just didn't see it happening at all in my short session.

But once inside am armoured vehicle as a gunner, yes, there i did notice that it was moving faster than I should like, it didn't feel "heavy"

Did you do it fast enough? That's the correct sequence. If you aren't quick enough and any of the stones dim, you have to wait for them all to dim and do it again.
I did make sure all stones light up. It still doesn't work. Tried quit and restart game, still nope.

You need to play the stones going in one direction then in reverse
