Why not replace everything, every time? With the insurance, I've not ever paid more than $2,000-$3,000 to replace everything and have the truck back to 0%. And when the permanent wear becomes an issue, trade it in for a new truck. It's not like you're going to spend that money on anything else. ;)

I've always wondered if it's really that cheap to repair trucks in the US. In ETS2, repairing a truck is very expensive, and in ATS, as you say, you can replace parts for next to nothing.

If our evolution had taken another path (and assuming we were still intelligent enough to be self-aware), we would still be asking ourselves the same question : "why this form, and not another?" The answer is that species are plastic to their environment.

The human form was necessary and sufficient to survive and reproduce in our native biome. But we had originated from a completely different species in a different ecosystem, then we might be intelligent (or not), but we would not be human.

This is REALLY solid but it doesnt address the main argument of improbability. A whataboutism wouldn't really apply in this case. its really more descriptive than probabilistic STILL REALLY GOOD ARGUMENT THOUGH

If what you mean is that it's improbable that we are intelligent and self-aware rather than not, I agree. But here's an example that should illustrate why we are who we are:

Imagine you're sleeping. Every second, there is a minuscule chance that you wake up. Perhaps one in a million, a billion, or a trillion trillion trillion. No matter how tiny, given enough trials, you waking up is statistically certain to happen.

When it finally does, you are not aware of all the failures, because you can observe the result of that dice roll if and only if it is a success. Similarly, if you were born without awareness, or not born at all, then logically you would not be able to consider the improbability of it all. That's a variant of survivorship bias called the anthropic principle.

PC port is designed for 720p 60fps. (pre-rendered cut-scenes are 30 fps anyway)
It's still stable in 1080p, but suffer from sharp unfiltered shadows which is not as much noticeable in 720p resolution.
Also 1080p and higher resolution require ff13fix in order to display certain UI elements like datalog entries correctly, and framerate above 60 fps is reported to break animations for in-game rendered cut-scenes.

Honestly, high framerate does not improve gameplay in any way for this sort of JRPG, and the game is perfectly playable even at 30 fps.

If you already have the Steam release in your library, it might be worth the test, to install the game and try it out how well it will run.
XBOX One/Series enhanced backward compatibility is however considered to be significantly better experience compared to this old PC port

It's the modern PC HW and Win 11 where FFXIII apparently have most compatibility issues.

I for example never encountered any game crashes, even without 4GB patch, but I was playing the game on mid-range 2013 PC running at 1080p 60fps on Win 10.

I randomly found the entrance at the Motel, one of the usually locked Doors just "blew up" after I walked by it. Then you have to enter the Room and then wait or leave it. I left, got into my Car and it teleported me into the Backrooms.
