I've been running into some consistently abominable pathing decisions made by randoms these last few days while grinding everdark sentient pest. Pinging one thing, running the complete opposite direction, chasing down flasks on corners of the map for the entire first day while not killing almost anything, spending all of day 2 wandering around killing minibosses and trash mobs in small camps or dying repeatedly in the rain and trying to pick up their runes and dying again. So much time is lost chasing down the wandering player(s) to collect them that we all end up being level 10-11 for the night lord and I have to do multiple double 3 bar revives during the night lord because of everyone having less health and low damage weapons. It's still very much doable but it takes longer and is frustrating watching your team run past a whole lot of practically free XP for no reason.

You don't have to take the exact same route every single game - and you can't, if you get a map that doesn't have a castle or has a random event spawn - but you should be spending more time fighting things day 1 than on map traversal. Churches should be grabbed on the way to objectives (not chased down from the other side of the map) because they're usually right on the path. A good route for day 1 is to clear the starting camp, get level 2, do the closest encampment/broken cathedral miniboss, reach level 3, closest evergaol or 2-3 depending on where they're located and how many keys everyone has, or nearby field boss. You don't need to be using the evergaol relic to get good rewards out of evergaols. Rrom there, you'll be level 5-7, head to the castle basement, clear it (which should be relatively fast at level 5+), grab your talisman, clear the middle part of the castle, and start heading to the nearby grace as circle is closing to level up to 8-10 depending on what you did. Alternatively you can clear out any events that pop up like Fell Omen/Libra/Pest/etc invasions as they come up. You can also use a gold pickled fowl foot as the night 1 boss is one hit away from death to help with rune gain if you grabbed one along the way. At the start of day 2 you can head to the shifting earth and clear it out, you can rush the castle top boss if it's an easy one, or go on a field boss murdering spree. The reason for cramming as many evergaols/field bosses/events into day 1 is to allow you as much freedom of movement and time for decision making as possible on day 2 and when you're level 11 consistently by the end of day 1, day 2 is pretty much only for cleaning up and getting as many good passives and bonus effects as possible for the night lord.

this is the same reason I am here they butchered the franchise. Torchlight 3 and this hot garbage of a game should not have the right to use the name of the franchise lol

Except for 13. and maybe 14. all of them are outside of my control, and saying they must be hard to fix therefore it's okay is totally absurd.

having a demo doesn't mean its out of early access lmao, the demo is for people to try it before they buy it and if you checked its not even the same version with the same updates. If you go to the store page, it says EARLY ACCESS. Release would be 1.0, It still HAS an official release date, which is in 2027 if i remember correctly. So you're 2 years early still.

I never once said or implied it was out of early access , the current version is 0.3.6 so it's pretty obvious it's not finished yet. I'm fully aware the demo doesn't have the same updates because the demo WAS the beta you plonker. If the dev has released zero meaningful content in the months since launch , what makes you think he's going to release enough content to get to a "1.0 Release" , which by the way would be the final update the game ever see's. I bet this cartel update gets delayed or has to release as a multi-part update with no timeline.

The demo wasnt the beta, the game that you currently bought is the beta. The Demo is just that. The Demo. A Rough draft. You get 10% of the game. Its not a beta, its not an alpha, its a Demo to try it before you buy it. I dont get whats hard to grasp. What makes me think its going to be a full game on release is the road map hes posted that you can get to in 2 clicks, where he posts his progress. What im not doing is crying on Dec 23rd saying santa didnt come this year cause its the end of december even tho christmas hasnt came yet. Who are you to say that 1.0 will be the final draft?
