Johan has criticized all the design decisions that made Vicky 3 boring at great length. And the dev diaries prove EU5 will play very differently from Vicky 3, too. That doesn't prove it will be fun, of course, but the chances are at least decent.

Not to defend Victoria 3 too much as it is far from perfect, but in its current form it trumps CK3 and Imperator Rome any day.

They went all out to make player choice way more impactful each update and dlc. Army system is still not good but it is way better now than at launch, and beats imperators ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ tactics mechanic.

So unless Johan can deliver on EU5, unlike what he did with his other projects he should shut his mouth.

How is player choice more impactful when I can't even move my own army? I'd rather deal with the slightly annoying tactics system than being placed on game enforced military noob system,

I can not imagine a worse military management system than in vic 3. The devs of that game have pretty much also alluded to creating the military system in vic 3 to be as bad possible with statements such as "we don't want the game to be focused on war".

Not being able to control directly smaller sub units and comcentrate spearheads with division or corps sized units and do things like hold exact defensive lines at key points like rivers or mountains or form encirclements takes away any form of war planning immersion. Especially once the game hits 1914. Taking away one of the funnest parts of grand strategy games, military management.



Only thing they did somewhat well with that game is the political system. Everything they are doing in terms of updates is fixing systems that were inconceivably bad on launch. Why was there no global market in a industrial era game? Why could any great power just randomly enter a minor war in the third world in the early 1800s with any alliance or protectorate?

Not to mention the game having the most shallow tech system of any paradox game, especially considering that it covers a time period with perhaps the most rapid pace of scientific discovery in history.

Seems to me that you had a bug related to radiation gain, and not to the enemies themselves. You'll notice that the moment your FPS drops, you started taking ~5% radiation damage a tick. Its possible that the tick rate on that radiation gain was so high that it killed your FPS. You were standing on top of a super radioactive nuke after all, and that might have contributed to your issues.

You could also find your "log" file and submit that to the dev. It might tell them more of what occurred.

The Fragments will turn into the Thought Condenser. You'll need 8 of them, most which come from the Divining Ring.

I have to admit , i was very disappointed with the absence of the English VA. They bring much more life to the characters of One Piece.
