for me yeah, its like someone accidentally maxed out the volume slider on the pistol (havent tried any other guns yet) by accident, again its kinda immersive funnily enough, but yeah

I am definitely the target audience as all I truly care about are arcade games which were what I grew up with and spent all my free time in (the arcades, not the games lol).

And I agree it's too expensive with the DLC. The intro price isn't too bad, cause I already had Gradius origins, the 4 arcade games were 29.50 AUD, and I think that's reasonably at ~7.50 per arcade game and they've been done well.

The console versions have input lag galore and I actually had a topic on it but I pressed delete instead of edit before and couldn't be bothered typing it all out again.

I am returning the DLC as it's pretty much unplayable. Although, I have found out since then that the original Night Striker on Sega CD had bad input lag on real hardware (a sega youtuber friend told me) but the snes and sms stuff is really high input lag also.

The only reason i can come up with is the fact that their off line version is far, far, far superior to the steam version which requires phoning home every three days.

Stand alone you can put into offline, forever i would presume. I had mine off line for two months while i moved house and no issues.

I think people should pick steam or stand alone at the start and stick with whatever they choose. But even then steam has the advantage. You can move steam bought stuff to stand alone....not vice versa. I bought stuff on steam before i even knew of stand alone but now its the inability to buy stuff on their site and transfer back that makes using their version pointless.

I don't give a ♥♥♥♥ if you prefer Steam or not, lol. OP asked about the sale price of the Gazelle. I mentioned that it was on sale on ED"s store but not on Steam, so he could either swap and buy it there or wait for another sale.

There a "penalties" involved with switching to steam from stand alone. You might want to advise people of those, rather than suggesting a platform where there are locked in when making purchases there.

Penalties are this. Modules bought on stand alone cannot be transferred back to steam. As long as people are ok with this, fine. Move to stand alone. Just be aware that if you change your mind in the future then all the stuff you bought on stand alone remains there and wont be visible in steam.

For most who buy on Steam there are next to no benefits to moving to stand alone. as i mentioned above.
