This guide is tailored for Terra Invicta players using the RESISTANCE faction on BRUTAL difficulty.
Hardened stations are key defensive structures that protect vital orbital infrastructure from alien or factional attacks.
They are especially critical when the enemy begins targeting your economic and technological backbone.

WHY HARDENED STATIONS?

- High-value stations (tech, income, fleet) are frequent targets
- On Brutal, aliens react aggressively to growing power
- Rebuilding is expensive and time-consuming—prevention is better than recovery
- Defense buys time for fleet response or allows bait-and-rebuild tactics

TYPES OF HARDENED STATIONS:

1. **Research Strongholds (Tech Focus)**
- Purpose: Maximize RP output while surviving attacks
- Common Modules:
- 2–3 Research Labs (T2 or T3)
- 2–3 Layered Defense Arrays (LDAs)
- 1 Admin Complex (for output boost)
- 1–2 Heavy Fission Arrays
- 1 Command Center (defense coordination)
- Optional: Campus Modules (more RP)
- Suggested Locations: LEO, Mars Orbit, Earth Orbit

2. **Economic Fortresses (Income Focus)**

- Note: Not "true" hardened stations but strategically vital

LAYERED DEFENSE ARRAYS (LDAs):

- Provide passive defense (deflection chance, HP boost)
- Stackable: 2 or 3 per station is ideal for survivability
- 1 LDA = ~5 Power
- Pair with Command Center for best effect
- Rebuild quickly after damage for attrition resistance

POWER SYSTEMS:
