Having played all of the Mafia games, what stands out about this one is that the player has NO free agency. This is the most tightly scripted game in the series. The entire game consists of Enzo being told what to do and him doing it. If he fails in the task, it reloads the last checkpoint until he finally succeeds. THEN the game advances to the next task that Enzo MUST do. In previous Mafia titles, the player is usually presented with several tasks that need to be done, but the player gets to decide in which order they are done. There are usually several side quests available which the player might or might not pursue. The closest thing to freedom of movement the player has in Old Country is Exploration mode to seek out collectibles. While some of those collectibles may be beneficial -- Charms for example -- none of them are necessary.

What Old Country reminds me of the most are old arcade pinball machines: Pop in your money, fire off the pinball, and beat on the machine until you achieve a satisfactory outcome. Instead of bumpers and targets, the player's "score" is how many corpses he has created.

F to doubt. Even if you never dealt with a feminist woman yourself, their agenda was everywhere, in videogames, movies, TV shows, ads... Unless you're from Russia, maybe?

I’ll admit it was satisfying to watch feminism and LGBTQ+ tear into each other like a pack of face eating hyenas. It was a masterclass in ideological decay.

This just happened to me as well. The game ran fine but after rebooting I'm stuck on REGISTRY_ERROR blue screens. It's looking like a windows reinstallation for me if nothing else

It's like gallery of fan made skins.

Ur the only one who took the L by not responding to me deliberately. U try to sound so smart but u dont seem to realize youre see through like a window. Like i said before, continue to stand up for a developer that will never know u exist. We all waited a month and a half for an update to drop on beta... cant wait to keep waiting until its on public branch. sorry ah dev, imo he needs to retire before it becomes more than he can chew

Let’s be clear you’re the only one taking an L by staying this pressed over a delayed update. I chose not to respond because I don’t engage in pointless arguments, especially when someone’s venting more emotion than logic.
You don’t have to like the developer or the timeline, but calling for someone to retire over a beta delay just sounds entitled. If you’re that unhappy, no one’s forcing you to stick around.
I’ll support the work I believe in whether or not they know I exist because I don’t need validation for having standards.

There used to be a much better gore system where rather than having the same gibs (body parts/chunks) fly apart the same way every time, the gibs would be "linked" together and break apart randomly. You could have an explosion result in something like legs being severed at the waist, or the arm/leg on one side of the body breaking off while the rest of the body was "intact". There was also a lot more blood splatter on walls and floors.

Sadly, they did away with much of the old system because it was contributing heavily to performance issues. It wasn't uncommon for even higher end PCs to freeze up or stutter heavily during bombing runs or artillery bombardments.
It also had its fair share of gamebreaking bugs (seeing through walls where blood is splattered, players being struck by flying gibs causing the game to crash, etc.). They fixed those, thankfully, but the performance hit was still enough for them to dumb down the mechanic. It's a real shame because the gore has potential to add tremendously to the immersion.

Supposedly they'll bring it back at some point (or at least improve the gore effects somehow in the future), but sadly it isn't a priority.

That being said, the devs do seem to finally be somewhat listening to the community by addressing medics, bipods, mobile artillery squads, etc., so hopefully we'll see them work on the gore in the future. Aside from the gore, I'd love for the devs to add separate faction loadouts for winter maps. And make the characters a little less bald lol
