The real reasons are multiple.

-Hefty price tag. This one is what made me wait for a sale.

-GamePass cannibalising sales. When there is such a big price disparity, the cheaper option becomes overwhelmingly popular.

-Loss of trust from customers due to recent releases. People are now increasingly sceptical towards AAA publisher releases.

-A predecessor with a very high bar. Eternal still looks great, plays great and has tons of content to play.

-Mandatory ray-tracing. Before you actually try it (it performs great even on RTX 20 series) this requirement is pretty scary. Some few people still using older GPU's like those 1070 and 1080 warriors, also are left out.

And probably more reasons, but I'd bet these are the main ones.

Campaign length-wise, OP is very wrong. This is about the same length as base Eternal campaign.

Until familiar with the game, I was using high visibility loot, some things are hard to see, in broad daylight and utter darkness. Question for the devs, as i was scrapping with a regular scrapper, again, I had high loot on, I was noticing some items that look like they were clipping into the ground, which is why I frantically tapped the E key as i was scrapping, is that the case or is it just the graphic effects? This issue is a non-starter with the Plasma Scrapper - wish there was something we could use/build that would make use of the thousands of glass for the few hundred plasma I'm harvesting.
