Features and Things I wish this game had

First of, I am a big fan of the game, I just think it could vastly improve by having some of the features listed below. This is more of what I think would make the game better than most other space game and standout even more.

I know the game is probably 10 years old by now and it is a one-guy project, but I still play it on and off for a few hours and I just wish it would get a DLC or a sequel.

- Ownable Capital ships (not flyable by the player)
let me call in a really expensive carrier or big expedition ship that I can use as a home base to refuel and jump around the map. It could be prized as something like 50.000.000 cr and with no limit on jump range but additional maintenance costs and resource needs

- Endgame money sink
In my opinion the game could benefit of some way to utilize credits other than buying cargo and equipment, like maybe having the option to invest into a systems economy or a research tech tree, that lets you unlock some crazy upgrades for your ship (something like a star/planet scanner, that guides you in the direction of uncharted locations, weapon, shield, or engine mods that drastically change gameplay) or even buildable star gates.
Once you've reached around 6.000.000 cr in this game, you can buy everything and have no need for credits anymore, which is a shame.

- A way to check if you've already visited or discovered a planet // a way to rename unclaimed planets on the map

- Make faction war actually winable for one faction across the galaxy through player actions ( at least in single player it is not fun to engage in the war, because it is just a mindless grind to try change faction ownership and there is no reward for doing so

- Space Pirates or Rebels
Missions that revolve around stolen cargo, finding and destroying pirate bases on distant planets which effect the economic state of a star system.

- Management and Production / more realistic economy
building cities and stations would be a lot more interesting, if the player could decide, which kind of goods could be produced at a location. For example: instead of simply having a "production" building. it would be so much cooler if we could build a "Mine", a "Farm", a "Military factory" etc. and these buildings would need other resources too
