How can you expect an increase of players, when they do not fix, what most people want to be fixed? These "minor" fixes do not change the Core-mechanic which means, there is no reason to come back.

And to be honest, if you have given up already, why are you still posting here? You are like me, small part in you hope they will change it to the original way.

Delete Ages and get back Eras with continue playing. Only this will have a chance to unite the Civ community which plays right now between IV-VI and bring them to Civilization VII.
Only this can maintain the future success of this game.

Unless.... they find more users, who love the Core-mechanic of Ages, of course.

That question you ask to our fellow player is interesting, and I think the reason is the same for us all: because this franchise has been a symbol of great design principles in gaming, in the middle of our age of mass produced, shoddy videogaming. Its honesty sad to see the great ship go down in flames because of hubris, greed and plain human stupidity.

Up to Civ 6, I couldn't really say that there wasn't one Civ game that wasn't exceptionally good, and even that one was still pretty high in the standard.

I think we can hope for a "keep the civ" option and, as a middle ground solution, that will satisfy a part of the current critics while raising the player review scores some. But this game will forever be considered the black sheep of the franchise. I think if completely redoing the game was the plan, there would be announcements about it, right now, instead of secrecy.

Went ahead and grabbed it at the last minute. Combing thru the discussions and saw a lot of "git gud" and "skill issue" replies which almost turned me away. But all the replies in here were extra helpful, so I gave it a chance.

I won 3 Solo Q matchs where 4 people escaped out like 5.....Compared to when Surv was actually difficult and skill was required lmao... And out of the 2 matchs I lost, one of them had a surv working with killer so lol

Edit : I ended up winning 7 matchs out 10

Since i bought the 100€ edition i will able to play in 3 days

I don't think preorders are included for early access/7th. 7th-8th is for Labs and streamer codes.
