Closed Beta: Began in August 2011.
Open Beta: Started on January 23, 2013.
Full Release: Launched on October 23, 2013.

I'm willing to bet PoE2 goes into open beta (f2p) after the 6th act gets release. But will maintain its early access tag until all the classes are finished.
They did say PoE2 early access would play out just like PoE1 did after all.

after milking the tits out of all the players to line the pockets at tencent, they are gonna do an open beta test (that's f2p) which is a slap in the face to all the paying EA people.. sounds about right

"until all the classes are finished" in other words, they have no idea when release will be. maybe when they get to the 10 year mark, it'll finally be released!

also, the comparison to poe1 is apples to oranges. small indie game dev company vs billion dollar corporation. it's not the same in any stretch of the imagination.

If the intent is for the option to be gone for good, then the "can be toggled in the options" line should be removed, to avoid misunderstandings.
