There's a helluva lot of content in the game now. Several factions, Two campaigns, Planetary supremacy mode, conquest mode, survival mode and they've shown no signs of slowing down.

They do not just stop, they stop for the rest of the run, and then you cannot switch weapons shortly after to truly screw you over.

Correct, they stop for the rest of the run but I haven't run into the weapon swap issue yet, just no grenades.

They have never given out a new character slot with any of the new characters, its a F2P game, thats part of the way these games make money, its like $6 when its on sale and there was just a sale on them like last month.

Yes they are bosses.
Bruin do have instantly kill but conditional with health under 30% after taking the "stab".

You sure Bruin is conditional? I'm pretty sure he'll try that move at the start of each fight. And if it hits you , you ded. Game over , do not pass go, do not collect $200, there will be no Challenger 2nd life, there will be no Thaen fruit second life, there will be no revive.

This doesn't cound the countless other bosses that have insta fall death.
